Default Game of the Week

Oil ( 6 – 3 – 1 ) @ Rangers ( 8 – 1 – 1 )

Can the Oil slow down the streaking Rangers?

The Oil entered MSG early this afternoon for preparation for what should be a very good game between two offensive teams. This is the third time the two teams have squared off, first was a 5 – 2 victory back at the Rexall Place, the second was a 2 – 2 draw here in MSG.

The Rangers have been red hot as of late with only one loss in the past ten games. In that span they have secured a spot in this years play-offs with a home game in their sights. The Oil are playing for fun in the Howe Conference where they are set to clinch a division title as well as a conference title with an eleven point lead over the Flames with only eight games remaining.

Injuries may play a part in this contest, as the Rangers seem to be fairly healthy going into the home stretch. (hope I did not jinx you). On the other hand the Oil are walking wounded entering the stretch run. Once again Samsonov did not skate in the pre game warm up, so we believe he will be yet another scratch. Sergie has missed 20 days now with his bruised foot. Hamrlik is soon to return from his hand injury and Roberts is expected back in a week or so.

The Rangers to watch in this game could be Roloson who has four wins, a shut out and a SA% of .928 in the last four games. Drury has been on fire with eight points in his last five games. For the Oil the key is Once again between the pipes as Brodeur gets the go today. Hossa hot down the stretch has put up thirty points in the month of February. And rookie sensation Jeff Carter is improving by the game……. Three major keys for the Oil to succeed in MSG tonight.

Oilers … are you ready?

Rangers … Are you ready?

Rangers are concerned with this game, in two previous games the Rangers have lost one and tied the other. Hopefully we can pull out a win.
