I'm a bigger fan of old wooden roller coasters. Seriously, you know you're not gonna fall out of that one, they have you strapped in tighter than a 15 year old virgin. But an old wooden roller coaster not only creaks and clacks, you're held in by one metal bar and your own strength. And let me tell you, when you're the one holding yourself in for dear life, the ride is a hell of a lot more scary. Everyone should ride the one at the PNE in Vancouver.

I agree...the old wooden ones are great....one of my faves is in Darien Lake NY.
The Predator...
Still...that new one corkscrewing you down almost vertically would be a fantastic rush!

I used to ride that rollercoaster at Playland/PNE every summer. Unfortunately, it was a let down every year as I would somehow have memories of it being more exciting than it actually was. It felt too controlled for my tastes as you could feel the brakes being applied (you could feel the clunk of the brake mechanism being engaged) and the less than smooth ride killed whatever speed factor that was to be enjoyed.

I took a girlfriend from Sask. to the PNE and without her knowing much about rollercoasters, I led her there first off. She was pretty cool on the ride up but on the way down she got kind of freaked and was trying to jump out. That was kind of exciting holding her down for the rest of the trip.
I helped build the little coaster at Calaway park, not a bad ride but I think I'd probably pass on the Dragster.

HAHAHAHAHA....Well done. Wow, that looks insane. I don't like coasters, in fact, I've never ever gone on the one at Callaway (sp?) Park. I'm a big puss.

They have a similar ride at Knott's Berry Farm in California (the same company owns Cedar Point).
I think the one at Knott's tops out around 200 feet, which is insane. It's a great (but short - only 45 seconds or so) ride. I don't know about doing one that's twice the height.

A little too much urine for my liking.
The rollercoaster might be cool though.

Actually, having personally being on this ride, the only thing keeping u in is a padded bar across your lap, if u look closele at the pic above where you can see the people, there is nuthin on ur shoulders, and yes it is a very intense ride!! Very fun, fur the 3-4 hour wait for the 30 second ride is not worth it too many, o ya, and if any1 ever goes on it, keep your head on the head rest, the acceleration will push u back so fast that it hurts (ALOT)
