Populate my playlist
Since many of you are bored without hockey, and because many seem to enjoy the off the wall requests on this site, I'm looking for playlist ideas.
We're heading out to the mountains this weekend with some friends and I volunteered to bring music, so I'm taking any and all requests into consideration.
If it's really obscure and good I may come asking for the mp3.
Thanks CP.

Hayden - dynamite walls...perfect song for driving out to the mountains

Ooh... You're asking the right person. Or, maybe, hte wrong person.
When I'm in hte mountains, nothing beats a playlist that includes stuff like RHCP, the Doors, Floyd, the ballady Metallica stuff, Gunners, Pearl Jam, STP...
Don't forget to mix in random goodies like
horse with no name
the gambler
if i had a million dollars
sound of silence
hey jude
blaze of glory
my own prison
Nothing wrecks a mountainous background more than obnoxious music. You know, the stuff that makes you drive fast in town?

Love Missle F1-11 by Sigue Sigue Sputnik.
Where you may have heard it before- it's the song that plays in the background of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" as Ferris gets ready to out for the day.
(Hey, you wanted obscure.)

Since reading about The Arcade Fire on here I must say I'm really enjoying it. Give that a try.
How about some Hip Hop? Mike Jones or Juelz Santana would be a suggestion.

Whenever I head out to the mountains, I always arrange my playlist to get 'So Long to the Holidays' by Ugly Casanova as the song that's playing coming back home through kicking horse pass. Perfect mellowing song after an adventurous roadtrip.

Anything by Jon Spencer. ***** Galore, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion or most recently... Heavy Trash.
The Sadies
Tom Waits
The New Pornographers
The Black Keys
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Those are just from a random pile of cds lying on my bookshelf.
Seriously, I could go on and on. Get anything with Joe Strummer associated with it.

I'm uber indie!!
I also recommend Joel Plaskett.. I can't remember the title of the song, but there was one played on CBC radio 3 last Saurday that had me in stitches. Damn I wish I could find it..
