Default From all over America (even Calgary)

Has anyone caught the AT&T commercial that is all over the NBC Olympics. It has a chairlift running through the middle of a downtown with the narrator saying the chairlift is picking up people from all over America. Well, you can clearly see that the chairlift if actually going through downtown Calgary. In fact the next shot of snow covered fields looks an awful lot like just outside of Calgary as well. I thought it was pretty funny.

I am actually surprised at how many American commercials are filmed in Calgary. I constantly see car commercials (for at least 4 different manufacturers) showing their cars driving through Calgary, and a Subway commercial overlooking downtown as well.

Can you blame them? We live in a beautiful city.

It's cheaper to film here.

Yes, you do.

I was wondering about that Subway commercial. I thought it looked vaguely familiar. I haven't spent oodles of time in Calgary, but the time I did was memorable enough that I retained almost everything I saw.

My sister worked on that Subway commercial. She is so proud of that for some reason...

Apparently Wyoming's tourism board is getting a lot of calls from people who watched Brokeback Mountain saying they loved the scenery, and wondered what part of the state that was filmed in so they could go visit.

Yeah, I read that story about the Wyoming tourism board too. They are honest to a fault in referring people to Alberta. However, they should have felt free to say "Hey, we have some great scenery that wasn't in the movie!" because Wyoming is truly a beautiful state.

I was watching the KTLA news this morning and saw an ad for the Hummer H3, it shows downtown, 10th street bridge with C-train on it while hummer is driving along side it. Pretty cool commercial, even better that it was filmed in Cowtown.
