2 hours today (Day 5: 7am-9am) and 2 hours tomorrow (Day 5 9am-11am).

It begins at 8pm Pacific time both nights.

Anyone catch the special feature on the season 4 DVD that fills in the gap between the end of season 4 and the start of season 5?

Can't wait myself...I think I can going to hold out and not watch it on 132 ou of NY at 6pm, rather wait to watch it at 9pm in HD.

In some ways it hasn't seemed like 9 months since the end of season 4, in some it has.

The wife and I filled the withdrawal with season 1 and 2 DVD since.

Come next 24 offseason after May, time for season 3 and 4 (again).

Honestly, as I have said before, the only show since Seinfeld left, that I make sure I don't have anything planned. Took a chance last year to start watching the series based on the trailers during football, just like today, and haven't looked back.

Although its not a necessity, best to get in on the ground floor....4 hours in the first 2 days and you'll very likely be hooked for the next 20 weeks.

I'm guessing it's on the last disc.

Having just watched it, here's a recap to get everyone ready for tonight:

Season 4 Spoilers!

Replay of the end scene of day 4 with Jack phoning the President to thank him, putting on his sun glasses, then walking down the train tracks. . . .

1 Year Later, Chicago

Jack, doing a great Ryan Smyth impression with a long, greasy mullet, drives into an industrial sector of Chicago, parks and gets out looking nervous and suspicious of some truckers in the area.

Chloe pulls up and they have a brief conversation -- someone had hacked into Chloe's computer and found that she had accessed Jack's autopsy. She had deleted everything on her computer regarding Jack, but figure that whoever had hacked it probably put the pieces together and figured out that he was still alive. Jack must get out of Chicago!

Chloe leaves and Jack gets back into his car. . . . a guy on a motorcycle stops across the street from him, and then a black BMW speeds around the corner.

There is a long car chase with Jack finally out maneuvering the BMW and getting it to slide into a forklift.

He drives away, apparently safe, but just as he turns a corner you see the guy on the motorcycle pull up watching him leave.

He disappeared to protect his secret. . . .

He changed his name and started a new life. . . .

He thought he was safe. . . .

Then day 5 began.

I watched the finale last season, and that was enough to hook me for this year. Should be good.

Yes, pretty good start...unlike Season 3, no soft stories that are too drawn out...right into the action!

Too bad about David Palmer...fantastic character throughout the seasons of 24, and a guy you'd cheer for...you ever think the US would get a guy like him as president? Unlikely....but great actor.

Just a reminder, another 2 hours tomorrow evening.

Maybe the actor should run! I'd vote for him. Can't be any worse than we have now, and we've had an actor for president before.

Great episode. Best season premiere for 24 yet. I thought it was getting a bit stale last year at times, but this one is looking to be set up to be very good.

Man. I'm going to miss President Palmer. He's probably the best actor on tv today. Now all he has are those Allstate commercials.

Great episodes today. The only complaint is "kim bauer" syndrome is back. I know the writers have to fill 24 hours of tv but making that young guy run into the airport to 'save' Jack is pretty lame. Well at least he didn't get caught in a cougar trap, but he isn't half as good looking as Elisha cuthbert.

What a great show. Best on TV right now hands down.

Just discovered 24 this past summer. Decided to rent season 1 while on vacation. Needless to say. My wife and I ended up watching all 4 seasons on DVD prior to season 5 beginning last night.

Sucks to see Palmer go, but not surprising for the writers of this show to pull that kind of stunt. Always full of surprises. (many not good)

Cant wait for hour 3 and 4 tonight!

I liked Palmer as well. Nothing like killing off a couple chars to start the season fresh.

I'll be watching tonight as well for sure.

Have to agree with people who say you get hooked after watching. Season 5 looks good so far. This show moves faster than anything on TV.
Anyway how was season 1, 2 and 3? I didn't start from the beginning on any of those so decided I didn't want to start watching half way through.

I'd still say that season 1 was the best season of 24. It was the original and the storyline in that was great IMO. Season 2 was also solid.

I wasn't a fan of 3 at all. The whole Saunders thing, it seemed sloppy to me. Season 4 was a definite step in the right direction though.

This season looks like it'll be awfully good too. I can't wait for tonight.
