Online Poker - Whats the best way to do it?
Hey guys,
I was thinking of signing up for an online poker account somewhere, but found the array of choices of both sites, and payment methods, bewildering.
1. What's the 'best' site for playing poker online? I don't really care about the level of competition so much as the ease with which I can deposit and extract money (as well as the 'trustability' of the site itself).
2. What's the best method of payment for this? Credit Card? Netteller?
Thanks!!

Although I hate the site, I'd have to say Party has the best cashier system, with the fastest cashouts in the biz. My favourite site is Tiger Gaming, but that is because I value the fi$h factor and software over traffic and banking considerations.
As for your second question, Neteller is definitely the best option.
And, btw, every site I've ever played is "trustable". I've played on 32 sites and never had a single issue.

I've tried depositing money at Party Poker, and Netteller, and both have somehow rejected my credit cards. I've got plenty of credit limit available on both... are my credit card companies just against dealing with Party/Neteller?
Any advice on exactly the best way to get funds on to the Party Poker site?

I have an account at pokerroom.com and I love that site with all my heart. the interface is just awesome, plus you can play even if you're not at home, as a download is not required (though there is a downloadable version). Thousands of players online at all times, sit and go and scheduled tournaments running every minute. I use Netteller directly linked to my chequing account, it was a bit trying to get it setup, as netteller will deposit a small amount into your account and you have to tell them the cent amount to verify (so you have to do some online banking), but that way, if you cash out, it just gets deposited right in, and to put more money in, it's as easy as a code and the push of a button. Credit cards generally do not work with those sites, especially in Canada, I am with Royal Bank and none of their credit cards will work, just bank policy I guess. Anyways, best of luck, chequing account is probably the best way to go, and I would suggest checking out pokerroom, simply because I've found it's a lot nicer to look at.

Do these site first
Neteller is good.
What I did was open up a different chequing account, so that if
they did screw things up, it was not my main account that was
effected. Then I used this account for Neteller.
What I wished I had done *BEFORE SIGNING UP* for PartyPoker.com
was go to http://www.pokersourceonline.com *AND*
http://www.instantbankroll.com
Use these as ways of signing up. Read instantbankroll.com very
carefully, make sure you understand what your requirements
and their requirements are.
Use pokersourceonline for signing up anywhere else. Surf through
it, there are many offers, sometimes you have to go through
the forums to find them.
Good luck.

Some banks (IE RBC) doesn't allow online gambling through their visa. So, it won't accept a gambling site. There is a way to get around it, I forget the site name, but its like a 3rd party depositing system, party poker uses it. That way you can use your visa.
I've sworn off online poker through. Drives me nuts.

I work for an online gambling site, and the service we use to get around bin errors (Credit Card blocks for gaming) is Phone Card Solutions (PCS)

Neteller is the way most people go when playing online poker.
I first open an account in CDN dollars but have recently switched over to US dollars. Most online poker sites are in American dollars and each time you transfer to and from the site Neteller charges you 1.9% in a conversion fees. So if you think you will be transferring mostly from online poker sites and Neteller and not Neteller and your bank I would open a American dollar account. I have probably have lost about $300 in fees. Though when you transfer to and from your bank account you get dinged the 1.9% if it's in a different currency.
I also opened another bank account to prevent my main one from any wrong doing.

And if you see me on the PSO forums (evank15), say hello.
I have Neteller connected to my main chequing account and have encountered no problems.

Bodog?
I've heard they're based in Vancouver. That being the reason why I can't play at that fish farm.
