A Turning Point?

Identity Games.

Turning Points.

The Big Win.

No matter what you call it there are some wins during the course of a season that can prove to be more important that just two points.

The Wild, who have struggled to find consitency all season hope that Thursday's 4-3 victory over the Thrashers is just such a win.

Struggling to find chemistry since the recent batch of changes, the team played its best game in weeks to knock off when of the premier teams, outshooting their opponent 33-25.

After the game GM Grant Farhall said the win is only big as long as the team starts to put together Ws more consitently.

"Tonight was good, but let's see what happens tomorrow before we pat each other on the back too much".

Senators Conquer the Stars
The Senators took note of how the Stars defeated the Penquins and vowed not to take them lightly. The teams exchanged PP goals in the first period. Smyth scored his team leading 27th goal of the year. He was setup by Kozlov and Boynton. The Stars Tied the game up as the Stars GM's SOS for Perezhogin was answered. He scored his 21st of the year. Not to long after that Nagy put the Senators ahead to stay. A great feed from Pronger to Sakic set this goal up. Sakic charged in 2-1 with Nagy. Sakic made a terrific pass across to Nagy who roofed his 17th goal of the year. The period ended with the Sentors outshooting the Stars 13-7.

The game belonged to us after that. Scoring 3 times in the Second and twice more in the 3rd. Everyone was getting into the act it seems. Van Allen scored his 5th. Wilson his 7th. Even Nylander decided to chip in today. We hope this will kick start his Senators Career..

In the end the Senators finished with 40 shots 7 goals and a victory.

Nagy was the first star with 2 goals
Sakic was the Second star with 3 assists
and Kozlov was the third star with 1g and 2 assists.

Next return match with the Coyotes.

Eric Staal and the rest of the Blues did a nice job against the Nords, picking up the 8-4 win. A nice result for St.Louis, but still not a terrific effort, since they were fortunate to get 8 goals with 24 shots. Staal was excellent with 4 points, while Selanne and Calder played to their potential.

The best effort on the night though might have been from young Ryan Whitney. He curbed his recent penalty barrage, logged a couple of points, and finished the game +3.

Rangers 3 - Jets 1

Rangers finally beat the Jets, for what ever reason Jets have had the Rangers number all season. Going into this game the Jets had won 2 and tie 1. Rangers decided to give Noronen the call against the Jets turns out to be a great decision as Mika was the first star in the game.

Shortly after the game Flambers addressed his team stating Saku Koivu was traded to Chicago for Chris Drury & Niko Kapanen. This trade was designed to give the Rangers a second line Center in Drury who could be switched to a Winger when Mario returns. The other purpose was to bring in Niko Kapanen to add another defensive Center the Rangers are hoping he will improve the PK.

Game Stars
1 - Mika Noronen (RAN)
2 - Jaroslav Modry (RAN)
3 - Todd White (RAN)

Next Game vs Wild
