I would imagine a few playoff bound teams wouldnt mind adding a behemoth 6Dman...and only one year left on his deal.

imagine this would be something that would be close to home as he has family considerations.

Listening to 650 - Seattle and Edmonton are being mentioned.

Can see him going to Edmonton - not too far away from his home in Kelowna and playoff bound. Mangiapane coming back plus some futures makes some sense.

The one guy that was pretty openly adamant against moving no matter what. I guess the team inquiring is probably quite high in the standings and relatively close by.

If that's the case it's gotta be Edmonton, right? Mangiapane(+) going the other way?

Right now there is a team staring at a soccer ball stuck in their rafters, waiting for this trade to go through.

Yzerman is weird sometimes.

Is Tyler Myers really the upgrade on defence that Detroit needs....doesn't feel like it to me.

They need a physical mobile RHD, who is defense first. Other than not being very mobile or physical, Myers checks all of those boxes!

Perfect pick-up for any team looking to add some total chaos on the back end.

He'd be a short term stop gap to shelter Sandin-Pellikka as he develops.

Myers is also probably relatively cheap as far as RHD go in this market. I'll be shocked if the deal is a lot more than a 2nd round pick.

Yzerman is proving very patient, building through the draft and surrounding his young guys with vets. Players don't really seem to want to play there so it's a model Flames should be following.

Mangiapane is a burden you are asking a team to take on. That is going to cost the Oilers an asset. Then, they have to give up something for Myers. Myers has to agree to go to Edmonton.

I can't see it happening. If it does, Edmonton has to give up something significant.

Could be good for the market for the Flames depth guys. It seems like there's really an arms race going on withe playoff bound teams this year.

There's a good mix of aging teams and up an coming teams who are new to the show. Teams like Colorado and Tampa need to do everything they can to stay competitive, while teams like Utah and Detroit are trying to stay afloat.

Great year to sell. Even some of the bottom teams, like Florida and Philadelphia, aren't true sellers.
