Default Poll request - where will Kadri be traded?

With the Olympic down period and lack of news, how about we do polls where we think our vets will be traded to? Can run a simple poll, or do elimination poll where the lowest vote getter is dropped and we continue to vote until we identify who we think is the most likely to trade for him.

Think we should start with Kadri. Easier to identify teams that need C. Can of course add Coleman/Weegar/Whitecloud as we have 2 weeks to kill.

Would suggest the following teams be listed:

Front runners

Utah - have declared interest
LAK - put forward an offer for Andersson that Sonny accepted - pieces look to still be there
Minnesota - top 3 team in Central with glaring need at C
Carolina - big game hunting in pursuit of cup

Maybes

Detroit - if they don’t land Troheck
Seattle - if Kadri sees them as a playoff contender (they swung for panarin)
Dallas - if they can make the money work with Robertson needing extension
Boston - if they think Lindholm can move to RW and open a spot at C

Utah feels like they have missed other big fish and they are antsy for a playoff run.
They also have assets to make a big move. Everyone kept saying Utah was going to be big game hunting

I think Colorado is still on the list, in my opinion. If you've got Minnesota and Dallas rumored to be in on Kadri, acquiring Kadri becomes an offense AND a defensive move against your division rivals. Top that off with Utah having some enticing assets and eager to make the playoffs for the first time as the Mammoth. Toronto is Kadri's first love, and Detroit isn't too far away.

My top 3:

Colorado - familiarity, best cup chance of any team in the NHL

Utah - great family place (whether people want to agree with me or not), best assets out of the 3, or at least the most expendable assets (lots of quality depth and draft pick quantity).

Detroit - Toronto proximity.

Based on this, I'd say Detroit has the best chance. They've got a ton of space too. Also, a potential chance to really create a blockbuster with Weegar interest.

Anywhere is fine. Just so long as the package has a good prospect or a good package of picks.

Carolina is on his NT list. It doesn't mean he wouldn't waive but it makes it less likely.

I genuinely believe people who suggest he’d prefer to stay in Canada and I also think the Flames will help him land somewhere he’d prefer which will probably impact the return. My guess is he does move, to Montreal where I think there is still a good fit. Flames take back Laine to make it work for this season and they retain 50% for the duration of Kadri’s deal. The return will also include a 2026 1st and a later pick this year or next.

It will be underwhelming but Kadri will be treated like a pending UFA with control of his situation.

I think the only way that happens in any deal is if there is a stud (and alreay established) center coming back....no way they retain for just draft picks and/or hopeful prospects.

Thats over 10MILLION dollars paid to guy who isnt playing for you.

At least with an existing player you can justify it as part of that guys salary for the 3 years.

Whoever ends up getting him, it will come out after that the Leafs were closest and Brad was in on it right to the end!

I don't think he'll even try that line this time, his best offer is probably a $100 Boston Pizza voucher.

I don’t think it will be Colorado. I’ve been told by a very good source that the Avs are targeting Coleman.

Closer to 8m... he has less than 3m left owing on this season. Don't see retention either, without a massive overpay. Most teams have bad contacts they can send back instead anyways.

He has three years after this season left. 3.5 x 3 = 10.5

If Edwards is gonna be paying eight figures for a guy not to play for his club, he will be wanting a pretty enticing return on that investment.

My guess is Detroit. Yzermans going to finally crack open the wallet and do a 1 stop shop and snag Kadri and Weegs

And 3 years after this one....its actually 10.5M if retaining for 50% the next 3 years..PLUS whatever is remaining this season

Makes too much sense...he will fit like a glove with that club.

Oh man, Coleman on the Avs could be an awesome fit. Definitely gives them a type of guy they don’t have on their roster

27 first will very likely be late but it'll do for Coleman.

I think he'll be dealt in the off-season. I'd guess out of limb and say Chicago.

I'll take Sam O'Reilly.
Good player and will be motivated to stick it to the Oilers, who originally drafted him.
