Literally says "we are focused on acquiring younger players in the draft" and then follows that with "its important to keep veteran players in the lineup to help younger players...and that's how you grow as a team"
He also references multiple first round picks, and letting younger players get a chance to play. They'll also continue to find players through free agency.
He also mentions setting the culture.
So basically reaffirming everything that the Flames have done and continue to do. Not once did he mention the need to bottom out and taking every action to make the team as bad as possible to try and accomplish that.

If the Canucks have shown one thing over the past several year, they are a very well run organization with managers always saying and doing the right things. The fact they have had such a tight locker room during that time is a testament to that. We should definitely do what they do.

People worry way too much about a word.
Even if Conroy used it they would just bitch and say they aren't really in a rebuild if things are not being done exactly how they want.

While I understand the point - they did trade Hughes for a hefty futures package. Biggest rebuilding move in the league this season. So their actions are more clear when it comes to rebuilding.

I'll be curious to see whether they sell off Pettersson.
I don't think he's the kind of vet you keep around to help guide the younger guys, but he's still a very good player; just not meant to be THE guy.
I suppose $11.6 year until 2032 might make it tough to get a worthwhile return.
