Instant Reaction: Flames devoured by Predators in road trip finale

The Calgary Flames went into scenic Nashville, Tennessee looking to close out their road trip on a positive note against the Predators.
Well, that did not happen.
The Flames were the better team through the first half of the game, and then the wheels fell off and the Predators pounced. The Flames distinctly lacked pep in their collective step en route to a 5-1 loss to Nashville.

Dallas Stars Linked to Nazem Kadri

The Stars have now started to snoop around on Kadri as they look to make a deal and make their roster better to try to not only catch but pass the Avalanche. Kadri has four more years left on his contract, including this season. He carries a $7 million AAV and has a no-movement clause, so he would have to approve a trade to wherever the Flames look to deal him.

With patience and poise, Flames' Yan Kuznetsov sets example for development

Yan Kuznetsov is the poster boy for the organizational patience being preached by the Calgary Flames.

After waiting 666 days between NHL starts, the 23-year-old defenceman was summoned from the Wranglers almost a month ago, and has stepped seamlessly into the roster spot with the Flames in which he’ll remain for years to come.

Several key Flames prospects are making progress with the Wranglers

It’s a really interesting time within the Calgary Flames organization.
While the National Hockey League club has experienced some turbulence in the standings so far this season, the organization’s player development apparatus is working hard to help turn promising young prospects into players that can help the NHL club.

FLAMES PROSPECT UPDATE: Week of Nov. 24 to Nov. 30.

- 2025 211th-overall pick, F Yan Matveiko

Krasnaya Armiya/MHL (Russia)

(Nov. 24) 1 PP Goal, 1 Assist vs SKA Academy

Matveiko has scored 26 points in 26 games in the MHL. His 26 points are tied with three other players for 13th in the league and his rating of plus-19 is ranked seventh overall and ranked fourth amongst forwards.

The sheer time and effort that Cheese puts into these GDT is much appreciated. You rock and I seriously thank you for making my game days! After this initial post ... well, the thread usually tanks (lol!). Go Flames!

That Darn Puppet is back!

"To Tank, or Not To Tank?" is certainly the question in Calgary this year. And for a die-hard (psychotic?) fan like Our Hero, it definitely creates a dilemma. You know that he'll always try to find a third option:

Spoiler!

Go Flames

Go Flames
The character pointing to the ‘operation tank’ bulletin reminds me so much of the bad guy in the ‘Neverhood’ game.
Well done. Made me smile. Thank you.

They're wearing the black jerseys for the next three games. That should help Team Tank.

Wolf will start. Not the season he was looking for so far. Up against the hottest goalie in the league (I assume). Looking to see if he plays with a chip on his shoulder and this turns into an epic goalie battle.

Scoring once on Wallstedt tonight should be considered a major win by the Flames.

Double trap game!

1st game back from a road trip is often a dud. Wild will also be looking past the Flames on this trip too. I expected a spirited game in Nashville, and it sort of was. No idea what to expect tonight. I guess we will see.

I kind of hope the Wild shut us out just to highlight how dumb that move was.

hadn't appreciated that former Wrangler Ben Jones is playing fairly regularly for the Wild. Given his career numbers of 42 GP 0G 0A 0Pts I have one prediction for tonight...

If Oiler fans were smart, they wouldn't be Oiler fans in the first place.
