Flames When Conroy starts Trading Off Assets

So what if... Before trade deadline Conroy decides to trade away key assets to build up a younger prospect pool.

Guys, what would be a decent trade for Andersson, Kadri, and Coleman individually?

/shrug.

We all can make fancy Xmas wishlists of returns for the vets. But really depends on what the Flames have set their player evaluations at and what they will move on from each player in their returns.

I have a hunch that these players are available but the ask on returns is ridiculously high. Like nonsensically high. So they could say we will move player but only if this price is made.

I only expect Andersson to be traded and I suspect they'll miss the best offer by holding on too long this year. I want to be wrong though.

Yeah, Andersson seems to be the popular player in the rumor mill who should be traded in due time. Honestly, I hope for a decent return like 1st or 2nd round pick, and a couple prospects. Or 1 prospect and one vet. Or is that a low-expectation on a reasonable trade?

I dunno. I don't have much fan-experience on whats a good trade or not. Look what Treliving did with Matthew Tkachuk.

They will either be traded right before the Olympic break, or at the trade deadline.

Kadri/Coleman seem like better candidates to get traded before the Olympic break since they won't be playing for their national teams, and it would give them time to adjust to the new city.

As far as returns go, my guesstimate:
Kadri without retention 1st + A prospect. Similar to the Islanders Avalanche Nelson trade.
Andersson with retention a 1st + 2nd is the starting point. If we could get 2 2nds even better.
Coleman without retention is 2nd + 3rd, but you're hoping to get a 1st.

I see a move in January probably for Andersson.

Kadri or Coleman move closer to the deadline.

Interesting to see if guys like Lomberg, Cooley or others move

I'm not sure what Conroy has up his sleeve for moving some of our older players for futures. All I know for sure is that the moves he makes will be the wrong ones and we'll hear about exactly why they were wrong for years and years and years.

Why the Toffoli trade... Was it a bad trade-off for the Flames?

Edit: Oh that's when we aquired Yegor Sharangovich. Honestly, I don't know how I feel about that. He's been a ghost playing out on the ice lately.

I think he should trade Kadri for Makar, Andersson for Johnston and Coleman for Kucherov.

That's when Conroy started trading away aging assets for futures.

Otherwise known as a rebuild

Well, if the team once again goes nowhere, that's all we'll have to talk about.

Pretty sure these deals are done but just waiting to announce closer to the deadline.

Ah, I see. You’re talking about a rebiggle.

Too much negativity around the team right now. Flames are just waiting for a win streak to pull the trigger and announce the trades.

Andersson, with how good he’s been playing and how low his cap hit is should return a 1st + 2nd + B-Level prospect as a rental. If the flames are able to get him to sign with the acquiring team, then it should be even more.

Coleman (50% retained) I think should return a conditional 2nd round pick + NHL-ready player/prospect. The 2nd would become a 1st if the acquiring team makes the conference finals. The prospect/player could be one not projected to be a top 6 forward or top pairing defenceman but has a high floor. Similar to what Bahl was when he was acquired.

Kadri I think should return a 1st + A-level prospect. That’s what Nelson returned (along with a 3rd round pick I think).

Okay just for fun and going off recent speculation.

Kadri (2m retained) to Florida for Lundell
Anderson (50% retained) to Utah for Iginla Jr.
Coleman to Tampa for their next 1st (UNPROTECTED) and a cap dump.

Draft McKenna and you have a solid core for the future.
Top wingers: McK, Coronato, Gridin, Huby
C: Lundell, Frost , (Reschny)
D: Bahl, Parekh, Bru, Weegs and Kuzy, along with Mews and Morin who still have potential.

The negativity will just skyrocket even higher when they realize that Makar (27) and Kucherov (32) are older than Frost and Farabee! These aren't rebiggle type moves. What are they even doing.
