Absolutely ok with it, this team needs to take their lumps like other teams do and get some higher draft picks, this is how most teams become successful in the long run.
Is it a guarantee that this rebuild will work, no, but what they are currently doing definitely is not working.
And for all the posters that are going to scream , "yeah but look at Buffalo", get real, go look at Tampa, Florida, Edmonton, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Colorado, the rebuilt through high drafting. Yes I realize those teams did get lucky, and did win the draw, but they put themselves in a position where they could get lucky.
At the end of the day, I don't think it matters, as the decision will be made for them, they just don't have the talent. The older players are getting older and less effective, see Huberdeau and Kadri, Backlund, etc and the young players coming up are not able to backfill these key positions on the team.
This team needs to draft a top center who can start making a immediate impact, or its going to be a long rebuild, which in by itself is not a failure as rebuilds do generally take a long time

100% okay with it, we need to play Miromanov every game

It’s super super early, a win or two changes everything at this point.
But yeah I like it. This team desperately needs top tier talent.
Would also like to see Vegas near the bottom too lol

Not just ok with it...I totally welcome it. We're the Flames, so I'm sure we'll go on a heater at some point to work our way back into the middle, but I'd be totally cool with being the worst team for the next couple of seasons.

I am okay with it but I do not think it will last the entire season. I think a bottom 10 finish is coming but I will be legit surprised if they finish dead last when the season ends

For a year or two, yes, absolutely, I'm fine with it. This team needs to bottom out for once and find a way to jettison some vets on to greener pastures. Being bad will cause some of the vets to look for ways off the team. The construction we currently have is never going to work long term because we have a bunch of middle 6 forwards and 2nd/3rd pair defensemen. You can't build a winning team like that.
I suspect that by the end of the season, the only players 27 or older are going to be Huberdeau (unmovable contract, but good all around player and leader), Weegar (seems to want to be here and lead this team), and Backlund (retires as a Flame). Andersson, Kadri, Coleman, Lomberg, Kirkland, Hanley, Bean, Miromanov will all be traded or let go to free agency. I also wonder if Sharangovich gets traded because of his inconsistency, but I guess you need some bigger contracts to stay above the cap floor.
Then you run with the kids, let them make mistakes, but teach them how to play at the NHL level. Input guys like Gridin and Honzek full time. Bring up Kerins and Stromgren to see what you have at the NHL level, maybe even Suniev or King depending on how they're playing. Give Kuznetsov a real shot at an NHL roster spot for once. Let Brzustewicz and Grushnikov get a shot at NHL time, maybe Morin depending on his development.
At the very least, you quicken the development time for some of these guys, or perhaps find out early on that they aren't going to cut it and then plan for an alternate solution. Hanging on to this many veterans on a last place club makes absolutely no sense to me. It's not like they're teaching the kids how to play well if we're in the basement, so what's the point? Cut bait.

I don't usually jump on the tank and go for a ride this early in the season, that's normally for after the TDL in a season where the Flames have sold and are out of any sort of playoff contention.
But I want to see the best odds possible for the Flames to land Gav.

Won't be for long. we still play in the worst division in hockey and Wolf still gives us a chance every game.

Kick out the legs. Its the right thing to do.
Trading Andersson and Coleman in the earlier part of the season would ensure the collapse. If they do trade Kadri last would be almost guaranteed.

If we can become Buffalo or Columbus (like the majority of tanking teams do) we can really accumulate high picks. This could just be the start of a very long run of high picks to replenish our prospect pool.

Agree, but considering Wolf hasn’t been a world-beater thus far, if that continues for the whole season (I doubt it will), bottom 5 isn’t out of the question.
This team isn’t last-place bad but god could we sure use one last place finish to get a true franchise forward through the draft, which with everything else in the system is the only thing I think we’re lacking. We just need to be awful for one season.

I think the org is too scared to become the next Buffalo/Columbus etc but their never tank approach has this team with 5 playoff series wins and one trip to the finals in 35 years.
I think there’s going to be a big push to be able to sell hope of playoffs but more importantly hope for the future when the rink opens in 2027
