Flames Practice Notes Oct 13

Still no Pospisil or Huberdeau.

Looks like Miromanov in tomorrow.

Trying to make that Weegar-Miromanov pairing work again? Yikes.

Perhaps more than they are trying to see if Hanley/Parekh could be something

I'd like to see Parekh with either Bahl or Weegar at some point this season

Day 1 of asking for:

Weegar - Andersson
Bahl - Parekh
Hanley/Bean - Pachal/Miromanov

Pump up Andersson's play with our best defender. Let Bahl and Parekh begin the chemistry.

They are still sheltering Parekh.

Once he gets more experience under his belt/ earns the coach's trust we will see him paired with Bahl or Weegar.

Zary 4th line over Sharangovich doesn’t make sense to me.

Still no Pospisil or Huberdeau is also not a good thing.

Not understanding why Zary is getting 4th line minutes. My eyeballs indicated he was one of their better offensive players last game and only played 10 minutes.

Perhaps this is to try and ease him into the center ice position? If so, I agree with that as I think he's played quite well as a center and this team desperately needs centers.

They still need to find him some ice time though. Having him play less than Honzek, Sharangovich and Klapka is silliness.

He didn’t have the greatest training camp. But I agree that he has more upside than Sharangovich and Klapka

If Andersson's value is in the toilet I'd rather his camp and Conroy negotiate a long term deal here. Rasmus never developed into a true top pairing, he's more of a complimentary piece and good in the second pairing. If Huska is understandably trying to shelter Parekh now I cannot imagine the task if Andersson is traded. He's a well liked leader on the team and I think he's a guy you keep to rebuild. Bachel and Hanley have been serviceable but they're injury depth in a good line up. They'll be forced into the top four here. That's good for losing but we can't leave Wolf on his own every night.

Even if he still gets 7 for a long term deal with the rising cap that's second pair money at this point.

I'm assuming Pospisil is not skating due to concussion-like symptoms? Otherwise, I'm not sure why stitches in the mouth would stop him from at least getting on the ice, unless he's having trouble breathing effectively.

If you're not going to play Parekh, may as well send him down.

I don't know how much he is going to learn eating popcorn in the press box.

Officially his injury is undisclosed so would have to assume it's more than some stitches in the mouth that's keeping him out. He's already dealt with some brutal post concussion syndromes in the past so I doubt he or the Flames are in any hurry to put him in the line up.

I think Zary at 4C is more just about making the lines work. Kirkland is out, Sharky is not a good option at C (especially 4C), Honzek is pretty green. This leaves Zary.
