Now that's a lineup. TSN has predicted Calgary to finish 6th in their division and looking at that lineup, I can't really argue. I still expect it to be a fun year, lots of developing players and who knows, maybe they surprise everyone again.

I have a feeling that they are benching Parekh because they expect the Oilers game to be a face punchy affair

No, I think its more they're afraid of Parekh getting walked and targeted by the Oil top line.

Bean playing over Parekh is the most Flames thing I can think of.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see in-game switch with Sharangovich moving up to the Kadri line and Klapka moving to the energy line.

I hate even the idea of an energy line. Wear the other team down!! Its the Brooklyn Brawler of lines.

Huberdeau's absence is glaring, but i really think that second line could be lethal. Especially if its going up against any of edmonton's derpth lines.

If Parekh looked ready at all id get the reservations but it looked like he needs more practice to be ready for real game action.

And im not a JB fan whatsoever.

I'm not against starting with the Bean-Pachal pairing. You would think that they were awful last year given the reaction, but really they were very effective as a third pairing down the stretch. In the last 11 games they played together after St. Patick's Day, they out out-possessed, out-chanced, and out-scored their opponents at 5on5:
Corsi For: 57.21%
High Danger Chances For: 71.05%
GF-GA: 8-5
TOI/GP: 10:16

That was during a critical stretch of the season and you couldn't ask for more from a third pairing. Bean's mediocre training camp doesn't really matter compared against what he showed he could do when the games mattered. If I were the coach, I'd be doing the same thing.

Yup, the same thing a lot of you said at the beginning of last year. TSN is a fn joke, look at their prediction record in the past. Two of their panel picked the Oilers yet again to win the Cup, you jumping on that too?

True, lines 2-4 are better than Edmontons 2-4. Huberdeau is a big loss

The Oilers reached the finals.
So it's not like they were horribly off in their predictions.
Picking who will win the cup is not easy.

Well, I'm a Flames fan, 'towner. Not sure why you always have to get personal with your posts. I'm cheering for Calgary.

I kinda like the looks of that lineup as is.

I don't mind Parekh sitting. Pretty tough task to play on the road against the Oilers and not much you can do as a coaching staff to shelter him.
