I actually think it's a good move. I wouldn't have any issues with a player with his intensity as captain of my team. It isn't the only type that works for a captain but it is a type that works. Hopefully for them, it also reduces the number of times his controller disconnects.

Interesting to compare the people who thought Tkachuk should be captain. Some of the same kind of issues.

The NYR seem to be actively chasing their young players off the team. I guess you can afford to do that when you have a team that attracts everyone else's prospects.

I guess they are committing to the older core? All of their key forwards are on the wrong side of 30.

Thier GM is a dick too and so is Adam Fox .

Only thing i don't like is what Sullivan might do with this team . Hes likeable.

I’ve been on a lot of teams with all sorts of captains. Sometimes intense guys work well and sometimes it can be a disaster. All depends on the makeup of the team and what they need. Some players like it and some players hate it. Obviously didn’t work in Vcr

He went on a homophobic laced tirade towards Petey before almost getting into a physical altercation with Tocchet and the entire team decided he needed to go away. "Didn't Work" is such a massive understatement as to what ended up happening here.
