Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!

As per usual ...

1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to mid to late August
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

I went Hurtig, but I like Lipinksi here as well

Daniil Chechelev - 2020 4th rounder, failed Goalie prospect. Came to NA for 2 years and went back to Russia where he hasnt been good.
Nick Cicek - Signed UFA, not really a prospect. Looks like a career AHL
Axel Hurtig - 7th rounder from 2023 6'5 defensive defensemen, +39 with the Hitmen last year. Going back to the Hitman as an overager as hes only been in NA 1 year.
Jakob Leander - recent 2025 7th round pick, defensive defensmen with size playing in Sweden.
Jaden Lipinski - 4th rounder from 2023, Big right shot forward that maintained a PPG pace in the WHL the last few seasons. The knock on him is his skating, playing in the NCAA this year.
Cade Littler - 7th rounder from the 2022 draft, needs a big year in college or he likely wont be signed
Owen Say - Older NCAA goalie thats maintained a good SV% on some very bad teams. Likely signed because Chechelev and Yegorov havent looked good.
Yegor Yegorov - 6'3 Goalie drafted in the 6th round 2023, his numbers really dipped last year and he will need a good season to show hes worth a contract to bring him to NA.

Lipinski had the same stats as Honzek, on the same team, at the same size, and sometimes same position (though I believe Lipinski played more center and Honzek played more wing).

Problem is that Lipinski didn't progress this year. We'll see how he does in the AHL. He definitely has the tools.

On the Fan this week, they said that had Lipinski not been going the college route, he likely would not have been signed by the Flames and re-entered the draft. Furthermore, sounds like the organization wasn't happy with his progress this past year.
We are deep in the list, so none of that is surprising, but worth noting.

I think Lipinski is in college for the full ride.

His numbers have improved steadily over the years, even when jumping to higher levels of competition. I have him ahead of Yegorov personally, but I see Yegorov getting the votes right now. People may want to reconsider their goalie rankings.

Went Hurtig. Guy has progressed every year, including the call World Juniors for Team Sweden. He's not going to be a top 4 but the organization seems quite high on him as a true shutdown 6/7

I would agree with this, I have Say ahead of Yegorov. Yegorov needs a big bounce back year, playing below average in the MHL isnt going to get him a contract in North America.

Owen Say is the Connor Murphy replacement at this point. He'll probably be the starter in Rapid City to begin with.

Prosvetsov in the mix changes the rankings. If he pops, the organization has a potential long-term number two.
