Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!
As per usual ...
1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to mid to late August
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

Potter. Even he had a strong case for top 3. Can’t believe Conroy got him at 32.

He was ranked higher than Reschny by some so he does appear to be great value at 32 and having the best wheels in the draft never hurts as it's been a while since the Flames have had a burner in the lineup.

Went Mews, but I have Basha, Battaglia and Potter right there.
Honzek in like 4-5 votes where he actually belongs.

No way Honzek gets more than Mews in a trade. Defense improved a lot this year. 82 points. Right shot. Going to Michigan that churns out defensemen.

Went Potter as I think the kid has a chance to be a star in this league. Lots of really good young players left but not sure anyone else has that chance.

Looks like Honzek is going to end up going next round ahead of guys like Basha, Battaglia and Mews.
I think he's a future NHLer but I don't see much offensive upside.

Potter again for the reasons I and others have pointed out, then probably Basha next for me. I believe both players (Potter and Bash) are gonna turn out to be major steals.
Also, how awesome is it that we have a list of prospects probably 10 deep where you could make arguments for any of them to go top 5? Just amazing draft work by Connie and co.

I think Honzek has the highest floor of anyone remaining on the list.

What's the knock on Suniev? I haven't heard his name mentioned in any of the discussions yet he's got size and put up first rounder numbers in the ncaa.
He's likely my next pick.

To me this is the clear top 5.
Now you are getting into a next batch of players who have either high potential, but question marks (Mews, Battaglia, Basha, Suniev) or guys with higher floors (Honzek, maybe Morin).
You are also comparing players who are in very different levels of hockey which makes it tough to compare.
I'm not sure where I'm going to go next myself.

He needs to develop other aspects of his game. He has an NHL caliber shot but could see alot of improvements in other areas. He could see time as a call-up mid-season if he has some growth and the team needs to fill a hole in the top 9. He is probably our 10-15th best prospect right now if your high on guys like Stockselius and Morin.

No knock on Suniev at all. It's just that there are several terrific prospects.
Difficult to put him ahead of Parekh, Reschny, Brzstewicz, Gridin, Potter or Honzek, but he is right in the mix with Basha, Battaglia, Morin and Mews (personally, I have Morin, then him, then the other 3)
11 really solid prospects, plus another bucketful in the next tier.
