It's a running theme now. Zito has been quoted before as saying "I want you to have the best year of your career and win a championship so that you become too expensive for us and get yourself a massive pay day."

He's been happy for this to happen to guys. Last year it was Montour.

Yup, but even before this season he has been solid. Was just overpaid on his previous deal.
