Probably has a pretty good AHL salary. One of those guys who probably see's a lot of value of knowing he's living in Calgary, or someone else is keeping him in the NHL

Hunt and Rooney. Will never understand the Flames brass' crushes on them.
May he serve the Wranglers well.

Great AHL player and a warm body if injuries pile up. Good signing.

I don't mind it. Organizational depth and he'll probably be on the Wranglers most of the time. You don't want him blocking prospects from getting a shot, but if you start to run into injuries and need a veteran that can slide in and keep pace, he's not a bad option.

He played 5 games for the Flames last year, 49 for the Wranglers. In total he's played 89 games for the Wranglers to 33 for the Flames. Everyone knows his place in the organization, which is why this is a 2-way.

Yeah, it's good to have players like that in the organization. You need some vets on the farm helping the prospects, and being an AHL pro while getting occasional NHL games isn't a bad place to be especially when you are getting paid a decent AHL wage.
It probably also helps players in this role if they are eyeing a post-playing hockey career one day.

I don’t hate Hunt, he’s ok. Injury fill in and AHL depth. As long as he’s not getting ice over Kerins then it’s chill.

The Flames snag their big fish by signing the 11th highest scoring UFA(0.6 PPG).
I didn't mind him on the 4th line, and thought he was great for the Wranglers. I disagree whes Huska plays him in the top 9 though. All in all I know he has a tough job, and he seemed to bring a ton of energy.

No problem with this at all, decent AHL option that actually looked pretty good at times with the Flames this season.

Yeah I'm fine with this. Rooney not so much since Huska loves playing him and he's a guy that's taking a roster spot from a younger player.
Hunt will definitely be one of the leaders on what I imagine will be a younger Wranglers squad.
