I like this kid, even back to the time he attended Flames rookie camp.

Dallas does not mess around. That was quick.

Surprising. I actually thought Marchment was a really solid player. And one of the few players on Dallas who wasn't afraid to hit.

The return seems underwhelming.

They still have to jettison another contract or two, right?

Good move for Seattle. They needed some sandpaper.

I’d still keep 30 year old marchment over dumping him to bring back scumbag Benn who is utterly useless outside of hitting and punching guys with ref protection.

Middling return but they are trying to dump cap. They had something like 50k in cap space after signing Duchene.

Yes, Dumba I would assume.

I wonder if we could offer Coleman (50%) and Solovyov for Bourque, Dumba, and a 2027 1st? That’s great value for Coleman at 2.45m for 2026 and 2027.

I think we can get a 1st without having to take on a salary dump plus adding from our end ?

Coleman at the deadline should have a lot of value

Let's leave Coleman out of it and take Dumba and Bourque for a late pick.

We are eating 3.75M in Dumba which is worth a 1st (Bourque).

Marchment doesn't move the needle much for SEA. Maybe they want his GAF meter?

Seattle is not a tough team to play against. No identity. This helps. Their PIMs have automatically tripled too. Just now.

Is it to bring back Benn?

They were over the cap already, and didn't have a full roster.

Dont think it has much to do with Benn. More with Duchene who they re-signed at the same $4.5M cap hit today. And they want to find a way to keep Granlund too.

They had 750k after the deal

Now they gained the cap back and sign Benn with a bonus deal and everyone’s favourite healthy scratch Bourque.
