Offering Bicycle Tune-Ups
I was the manager and head bike technician at Sport Rent for 17 years. I know I’ve worked with some of you here through Sports Rent! Although I’ve since pivoted my career, I still have all the skills and experience I gained there.

Tune-Up Price: $50 (includes the following services):
• Cleaning dirt, oil, and old grease from the bicycle
• Checking gears and derailleurs for damage and proper alignment
• Inspecting brakes and cables for wear or damage
• Checking tires for wear, cracks, and proper air pressure
• Inspecting wheel alignment
• Checking headset and bottom bracket
• Applying appropriate oils and lubricants to moving parts as needed
• Cleaning and oiling the chain

Additional Notes:
• Additional work can be done at an extra cost. No work will be performed without your consent. I’ll perform an on-the-spot inspection when you drop off your bike and let you know if anything else needs attention.
• The tune-up does not include parts or labor for part replacements. I do have cables and housings on hand if needed — $8 per cable, $5 per foot of housing. Any other parts you’d like replaced should be provided by you.
• Discount: $45 per bike if you bring in multiple bikes.

E-Bikes:
I also offer tune-ups for e-bikes. The same service list applies as with non-assist bikes. The only components I do not work on are battery-related systems. In my experience, e-bikes should be tuned more frequently than non-assist bikes due to the additional stress placed on components from heavier frames and higher consistent speeds.

Bike Assembly:
If you’ve purchased a new bike online and need it assembled, I can help! Assembly pricing ranges from $50 to $125 depending on the bike’s requirements.

What part of the city are you in?

I live in Tuscany. That being said if anyone is in the south I can probably arrange pickup/drop off in Midnapore, my sister lives down there. The turn around would of course be longer if Midnapore pickup/dropoff is required.

I was going to ask if you lived in Sandstone Valley. There's a guy who lives a couple houses down from me who does bikes too...

PM sent. For the most part just doing drop off but if you're not able to get the bikes to me I'm sure we can work something out. Please message me with any questions.

Also as a heads up generally speaking Saturday's will be the main day I get all of the tunes done, plus one week night depending on my hockey schedule. If I get busy enough I might tweak it. Although if the Cavalry are playing I can pretty much guarantee I won't be working on bikes that day!

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to help you out with this one, with all the different seals and connections needed for things like this and suspension work I just don't have required tools and kits needed.

I may book an appointment. My wife and I have a couple of bikes we bought from Sportcheck many years ago - a Reebok for me and a Nakimura (I think) for her. We recently had two kids so the bikes have been sitting in the garage for a while (two years). They could use a proper lookover and a service and clean.

Wanted to bump this thread up incase anyone is looking for bike tune/repair services. Got 2 bikes looked at this week. Great work and very quick turnaround time compared to the local bike shops.
