lanny Nazem Fricken Kadri

Kadri has been a stud for the Flames.
At 34 he's been a 0.785 PP/G since joining the team.
Loves the city, loves being a Flame, busts his ass, wants to win, and shows up for big games.

Yeah he is only 36th in franchise all time points, but I bet you he will go down as one of the great players to put on a Calgary Flames sweater.

He's definitely been great. So many times where he seems to will a goal into the net. His consistent drive and influence on the young players is invaluable. Once we see where contracts are going this off season with the inflation, he's going to look like a bargain.

If some of these posters could read they'd be very upset with you.

Very frustrating player - does so many things the wrong way. He has been better in the second half and deserves credit for Huby’s improvement.

His -18 is definitely disappointing and certainly telling, especially since most of his starts are in the offensive zone.

I agree with Troutman, to me Kadri is a very frustrating player to watch.

I really like Kadri and I think he was worth the signing, he's been great.

But one of the great players to put on a Calgary Flames sweater? He's got a ways to go for that. If he can be a key contributer to a playoff run or two, then perhaps.

I generally like Kadri, but I agree with you, he is a very frustrating player.

Sometimes he's great! But sometimes he takes boneheaded penalties, loses his cool, quits on plays.

He's very 'hot and cold.'

He’s a good player right now.

I doubt he will ever be considered an all time great Flame. He’s too old to really dent all time stats and this team is going nowhere right now where it would benefit from having his dark arts and killer instincts. At best a 1st round exit this year and who know about playoffs the rest of hos contract duration.

But I could see him becoming a great Calgarian though.

Wants to score. Not sure how much he cares about Cgy. Can be selfish.

2nd best player after Wolf. Wish we could trade him.

Really REALLY don’t like that he quit on Sutter.

I like him more than most, but I agree with the consensus. All time great Flame? No.

I'd have him below Daymond Langkow for sure.

He's been pretty consistently good since huberdeau and him were reunited the most recent time.

It's ok when he's selfish when he's scoring. That's the important part. If you're going to get tunnel vision make sure you make it count. Lately he has.

Problem was earlier in the season when he approached the game the same way but it wasn't going for him. When he forces it it hurts the team.

But we've had a pretty clutch Nazem for a while.

He was also a key component to a cup win so I don't know how critical we can be when we know his playing style has made a difference on the big stage.

For a center, he is not much of a playmaker. Will shoot every time from impossible angles when a pass would be a better option. Not good on face offs. Takes bad penalties in the offensive zone. Too many give aways. Tries to beat 2-3 defenders rather than using his line mates. Gives up on plays when he thinks he’s been fouled. Not good defensively. Minus 18 is worst amongst forwards.

I don’t question his work ethic and offensive skills. Far too selfish though.

Very selfish player. A couple highlight reel goals this season though, so maybe we can sell high in the offseason if we put those goals on a loop and send them around the league.

I Like Naz. I'd probably describe his game as being mercurial. It can be frustrating at times, but I prefer someone who gives a damn over someone who just goes through the motions in tough games.

Not an alltime great kinda player, but I always thought he got shafted in Toronto. Glad to see him doing well for Calgary now.

I don't mind a player being selfish, if they're the one putting pucks in the net. He and maybe Weegar are the only two consistent goal scorers over the last two seasons.

As good as he's been, he's not an all time great by any means though. You have to at least make top 20 in goals and/or points, as a forward, to be in that conversation. I see Kadri moving back to Ontario in a couple of seasons. If Kadri puts up solid numbers for 5ish seasons as a Flame, he's in that Langkow or Glencross type area.

If Kadri finishes his career here, I'd put him at the Monahan or Reichel type of contribution....although if he wins a cup, he could be the next Lanny....if he wins a cup.
