Dane Dobbie went off tonight
7 goals in the 4th (NLL record for most goals in a quarter) including several to tie it up
And the he wins it on overtime with his 8th
Might be the most impressive things I’ve seen in the NLL

“That's what I love about Dane Dobbie, man. I get older, he stays the same age.”

Powerplay Quarterback

Rough outing last night, the goaltending was a bit weak but to be fair they gave up 50 shots. I thought the Rock played way better defense than the Roughnecks, and Rose basically fills the net.
The whole team seemed to come out flat early and never really got into a groove.

Goaltending a bit weak seems like a huge understatement as the goalies were awful.

Another awful goaltending night for the Roughnecks on Friday and some bizarre coaching decisions where they made a goalie change after 3 fairly quick goalies and made a second goalie change later in the game after the tenth goalie (or whatever it was.)

It was, both on offence and defense.

Major deal by the Roughnecks to address their goaltending.
It's steep price including because the 2026 draft is considered to be very strong, but I also think that this team has championship potential with their offense and D. Goaltending has probably cost them 2-3 wins this season already. Nick Rose won NLL goalie of the year last year.
TO CALGARY:
Nick Rose
Tyler Hendrycks
4th Round Pick
TO TORONTO:
2026 1st
Robert Hudson
Gowah Abrams

Rose is almost certainly just a rental, as he's a UFA after the season. Mike Board going for broke this season?

Given the age of the team it makes sense. Dobbie and Dickson aren't going to produce at these levels forever. It is largely a veteran team, and if you give them a goalie - they can beat anyone.
They then need to solve the tending in the off-season. They still may believe McLeod can be a #1, and that half a season with Rose may help. They also have Colby Bowman as a solid prospect. Maybe they try to re-sign Rose. Maybe the ship CDB to Vancouver in exchange for a goalie.
But I do think Board looked at the team and felt that it's a wasted season to take an offense this good, and a solid D, and throw it away because you can't get a save. Sanderson was pretty direct on Saturday that neither goalie was good enough. He's also the AGM so would have some say in these moves too.

Sorry Roughnecks fans but I'm 0-3 for games this year. Buffalo was always going to be a tough game but I thought they looked pretty good in the first half, although they weren't scoring much, but fell apart in the second.

i dont think they played bad, they just ran into the best time in the league who dont have many weaknesses. I feel much more confident with Rose in the net.

Yeah you weren’t going to beat that team two straight weeks
Getting one of the games was the key
