Default Flames 5 Devils 3

Flames 5 Devils 3

- Flames with a massive third period comeback
- Down 3-1 going to the third, they score 4 to secure the win
- Impact the Devil's draft position in the process

They did show a decent replay later in the game of that wrap-around goal. It got deflected by Klapka, and rolled under Wolf. Wolf had no idea where it was, and it just kept rolling. Didn't look like Meier's two taps at Wolf had anything to do with the puck going in. Just a weird fluky deflection.

Wolf showed a lot of maturity and poise (as did the team).

After that awful goal given up, instead of mailing it in, he made some massive saves.

And then the team found a way to tie it up and pull ahead.

Great stuff Flames. I didn't have any more hope for the season when they went down 3-1. Proved me wrong.

Something must have been said between the second and third period as they came out hungry for a win.

The team should be buying Wolf dinner on the road for all the games he's kept us in. We wouldn't be close to a playoff if it wasn't for the play of Wolf.

Liked the line about Vladar still asleep in his crease.

Huh?

Flames go from giving up two, to giving up one, to giving up none to a team that they hold their draft pick.

It's not specious, it's factual.

Taking two points off the Devil's totals could literally move the value of that pick up a position or two.

To get back into a top ten draft position ... 4-9-1 .321 (-.230 from current pace)

To beat out the current 9th place team (Cgy back to the 8th best in win%) Vancouver? 7-5-2 .571 (+.021 from current pace)

The skew from the Flames current pace is 91% towards the playoff push.

If the battle for top ten isn't over, it will be soon.

I believe the same could be said for the Devils.

I believe the coach said:

"Hey boys, has everyone had enough fudge?"
