Default January 19, just three games.

The Sunday OOT continues the light and busy scheduling pattern with
just western conf. team playing. The eastern conf. is bunched up with
Ottawa in 8th place, just 2 to 4 points up on the Habs, Rangers, and Red
Wings. It should be good to watch as all those teams have been playing well.

Only 2 wins in their last 10 games coming in for NJ, and they lose again. This is excellent news for their 1st pick

The Devils are a pretty mediocre team, it would not surprise me if they missed the playoffs.

Wouldn’t that be an interesting development. Flames lose their own pick but keep a top 20 from the devils anyways

Wishful thinking fellas. I'd much rather slump now than in April

Yeah, I don't see the Devils missing the playoffs but I'm very surprised at how "just okay" they have been. They have the players, but for whatever reason they just can't seem to reach the next level.

They're essentially neck and neck with Ottawa and Columbus right now when you consider both teams have played less games, though to be fair, they need to win those games in hand. Carolina also has played less games and is only a point behind them without Andersen who's been injured since November, returning probably in Feb/Mar and was having another elite season before he got hurt with a 0.941 (!!) save percentage. If it stays Devils and Carolina as the matchup in Round 1, and the Canes get Andersen back, I see a big problem for them exiting the first round.

In the East on paper I would have Toronto, Florida, Tampa and Carolina definitely better. Washington is somehow better. The thing they might save the Devils was the bizarre horrific stretch the Rags went through. The Rangers are 6-2-2 over their past 10 but they may have dug too deep of a hole to catch the Devils (11 points back with 4 games in hand). But if the Devils can fall into the wildcard group they could easily miss the playoffs. Fingers crossed, it would be great if they did. They were bubble team going into the season and look they are still a bubble team.

Adam Fox has two assists, the Rangers lead 4-3 after forty minutes. It is now midway through the third period with Quick and Dobes in net. The Rangers scored first and the Habs kept tying it up after

The Stars are dominating the game and are up 3-0 midway through the second period. All the goals came in the first period. Duchene with a pair of assists.

Laine with the OT winner. He’s fit in pretty well so far.

Habs are 15-6-1 - which is 3rd in the NHL - since he returned from injury on Dec 3rd.

I was really disappointed we didn’t get him this off-season for the acquisition cost.

The Senators goaltending has improved. They were outplayed in the 1st period being out shot 17-2. Forsberg stopped them all and only faced 9 shots for the rest of the game. He was the 1st star of the game. The Sens are 5-0-1 in the past 6 games. The Sens were 0/3 on the PP.

The Habs were also 0/3 on the PP and it didn't matter as they won in OT. They are on an amazing pace going 12-3-1 in their past 16 games. Their rookie goalie, Dobes, has not lost yet. He has all 5 games that he has started. The Rangers have also being playing better going 5-0-3 in their past 8 games. Quick faced 38 shots and is stuck on 399 career wiins. The Habs fired 27 shots at him.

Keeping up with a team going 0/3 on the PP, that's what happened to the Red Wings, and they lost to the Stars. The Stars PK was perfect and their goalie, Oettinger was the 1st star of the game as he made 31 saves. Dallas is also hot, 10-3-1 in their past 14 games.
