Default Who would you call up from the Wranglers?

Rank your call-ups and tell us why

Defence:

1. Ilya Solovyov
He's at the age where he would benefit from being on the NHL roster. He's big and he has a good stick. Not to mention he's putting up great numbers for a defensive defenceman.

2. Honestly, Jonathan Aspirot - come at me.

Forwards:

1. You guys might hate it but the numbers speak for themselves, Dryden Hunt. He deserves it.

2. Clark Bishop
He's far exceeding his career best in the AHL and has set the tone as captain of the Wranglers. I think he could slot right into Kevin Rooney's role. You could even keep Rooney as the 13th forward for depth.

Their are a number of defenseman that are going to need a spot in the next year or two:

- Poirier, Kuznetsov, solovyov, Brustewicz, crushnikov not to mention Parekh ect. I really like Kuznetsov.

Not as familiar with the forwards. A lot of them have already graduated. Zary, Coronato, Pospisil, Pelletier, Kerins. This is the biggest group of home grown youngsters I have seen on the Flames. Good for them for developing so many. Including probably the best of the bunch Wolf.

Some good young pickups too in Bahl and Pachal.

Stromgren and Grushnikov. We need a little more grit and Grush does that.

Solovyov - at the right age and experience level
Grushnikov - I think he is closer than we think

Morton - let's see what he's got and whoever comes up likely gets 4th line duty so keep the other guys down
Hunt - has earned it

Solovyov in my mind deserves it most, especially since the coaching staff seem to only considers 4-5 of the dmen as top 6 regulars.

Agree with all the above, but I would also like to see what Kuznetsov can do. He’s second in the AHL in plus/minus.

Grushnikov really hasn't been showing out at all. He hasn't been playing as much and when he does, he is well behind Solovyov, Kuznetsov and Poirier.

He's a bottom pairing Dman in the AHL. I don't think he has much to offer above that level.

The usual suspects in Solovyov, Klapka, Stromgren, and Morton

I wouldn’t mind seeing the following players get a cup of coffee though or come up as a 12/13 and let the young players keep growing in the AHL. Reward them for their excellent play.
Hunt - Leading the AHL in points.
Frk - 29 points in his last 24 games.
Bishop - Veteran forward having a solid season in the AHL

He is the youngest out of the bunch too being a 2003 birth year. People weren’t too happy with Kuznetsov’s progression last couple of years, but looks like he has taken a massive step this year. Hopefully we see them from Grushnikov

Frk doesn't have an NHL contract.

I'd love to see Ilya Solovyov on the left side of Weegar over Hanley or Miromanov.

Agree with this, and I’d also like to see Morton get handed the 4th line center role since apparently that’s not a job acquired on merit.

I haven’t watched the Wranglers much this year (thanks AHL for selling to flohockey) but Morton consistently impressed when I have watched him, which makes his questionable stat line in the AHL very confusing.

I think this shows they might sit Rooney soon. Morton would be more of a top six center callup, where Bishop is pushing 30 and can play a bottom 6 role without hindering the development of anyone else. This also rewards organizational depth for a good season.

Part of this teams' new hope and positivity can be thanked a bunch in the fact the Flames AHL is here at home now. Feels like it's made a huge difference.
