Ahead of Friday’s game against the Minnesota Wild, Stars head coach Pete DeBoer spilled the beans, saying he and young players were at the rink on Boxing Day.
“I was at the rink yesterday. We had an optional, and of course the young guys all show up for the optional, like, you know, they’re supposed to do,” DeBoer said.
I gotta be honest I find the whole thing kind of silly. You’re not allowed to practice on these two days. Is 2 days enough to fly home and actually have a holiday? Like by the time you travel you get 3 hrs with your family. So if you’re not going to stop your insanely over-long regular season schedule more than 2 days, why not just let them practice? Union argues for it but players opt to show up. Shrug. Pretty stupid.

Lehner posted some interesting stuff maybe a week ago saying he had several criminal organizations after him and how the NHL and NHLPA also screwed him somehow so he couldn't get help from them....

Scrap the Christmas holiday in the next CBA and get these guys on the ice like the other sports. How is a winter sport not being played on Santa’s birthday.
Lehner's 'X formerly known as Twitter' posts hurt my head. Am I to understand that he expected his employer to help with police matters? Serious question. I suppose we have incomplete information?
