Flames prospects at the 2025 WJC: Hurtig
No Flames have made Canada's World junior camp.
Big surprise is Parekh. Thought Morin also had a chance.

Yakemchuk also snubbed. Hockey Canada has not learned its lesson from Brandt Clarke, apparently

Looking like Hurtig might be the only Flames representative if he makes Sweden's team again.
Most of the Flames prospects that are still meet the age qualification are Canadian or Russian. Russia is still banned from IIHF tournaments.

Some interesting choices there.
Classic Team Canada overthinking it.

I suppose all their resources are wrapped up in defense attorneys

The Flames draft for character. Hockey Canada typically does the opposite, similar to the Oilers. Shouldn’t be a surprise that Parekh doesn’t fit Hovkey Canada’s MO.

No Tij Iginla either, that seems pretty odd.
They also only have 3 defencemen from the 2024 draft or later on the roster, seems they favoured age a lot in the selections.

Parekh and other flames picks can use this as fuel for fire.
Remember wolf was a backup back in the day. Wjc not everything. Numerous examples.

Akey and Allen over Parekh is actually wild. I will be cheering for this team to lose.

I remember that they sat Makar at the WJC, their talent evaluation is far from perfect.

The forward group also seems pretty weak. No Misa?
