Ah yes, the obvious replacement for Huberdeau. Rooney.

Wait, so is the plan for Kerins to centre the 4L and Rooney to sit next game? Thats usually how these practice fill ins work right?

using Rooney as a place holder might mean he sits the next game
I am interested to see Kerins at C

Rooney will sit, just a place holder for Huberdeau. Rooney barely had a shift in the third period last game, may finally be in the doghouse

Time to bring up Stromgren and Morten IMO. I'd shuttle Rooney and Duehr off to the Wranglers for the rest of the year.

Duehr on waivers so that 4RW spot is also potentially a placeholder

Stromgren Kerins Pelletier/Lomberg could be a fun line to see

It'd be nice to see Soloyov tried out in place of Miromanov and Hanley

I suspect part of the issue with Soloyov is that if they bring him up he has to clear again to go back down? And perhaps there is a greater risk of losing him now?

He'd have 30 days on the roster before that though I think.

Between Solovyov, Kuznetsov, Grusnikov, Poirier, Brzustewicz, and maybe even Aspirot I'm a bit curious on who the org thinks deserves that first defense call up.

^Solovyov would be at the top of the list IMO. But as mentioned waivers complications depending on the time frame.

Can't they waive Barrie, and just keep Solo/Kuzy up? Or would it be considered bad business on the Flames part.

I would love to see Kuznetsov or Solovyov playing with Weegar and/or Pachal for a dozen games. Even though I think that Hanley performed above and beyond all expectations playing with Weegar.

Barrie and Hanley taking up spots on the roster this year is probably the most dissapointing thing to me.

Hanley has at least played way above his head so it's tough to be mad at that one now with the benefit of hindsight - even though I think with our backlog of LH dmen on the Wranglers (Poirier, Solovyov, Kuznetsov, Grushnikov) it would have been nice to see what they could have done in the spot.

Barrie was a wasted signing the day they signed him, it never made sense with a dcore that had Weegar, Andersson, Pachal, and Miromanov as RH shots , and actually led to them losing Schwindt too, who would have been a much needed 4th line center alternative to Rooney.

the Barrie signing hasn't worked out but the only spot he's taking up is in the press-box. It doesn't really matter. You wouldn't want a young player in that spot.

It's interesting how we use our 7th d. Usually they come in on the 3rd pairing for us its always switching on the 2nd pairing.

Would have given you more flexibility to bring a Solovyov, Kuznetsov, Grushnikov type to come and practice with the team.

Also led to them having to waive Pelletier/Schwindt to start the season...luckily they only lost Schwindt and not Pelletier.

Those guys need to play, and play big minutes in all situations. Not practice.
Agreed on the waiver issue it created.

I don't get why they keep trying Sharangovich at C, he is a pure winger and that line worked well.

I get Rooney sucks, but you could probably insert someone else from the minors in that role.
