Very generous offer. I am counting on hopefully getting my non damaged box one from Amazon by the end of the week but if it gets cancelled I'll message.

Sending you good karma. These LE models really pull at the heart strings for old guys like me. I remember getting my launch PS1 at the Sony store Chinook day one. I was the only person that showed up to get one when the store opened. Haha. Times have changed.

Educate an old man like me...

Is the concern on the box for collectibility ?

Why the concern.

Thanks.

Off topic...I think we still have an original PS1 and a PS2 around here somewhere.

I'm guessing he had intended to hold on to it for a # of years to appreciate in value and sell later, but with a destroyed box that would hurts its value significantly.

Well for sure as OutoftheCube mentioned, it can definitely hurt the collectability and potential resale value down the line.

Personally for me, I just love all my stuff to be very pristine and in good condition. I try to open my game boxes and all my stuff very carefully, and honestly, I just like looking at it and it bothers me seeing it all dented or torn. I try to treat all my stuff with care, so seeing it already come like that is a no go. Its "just a box" of course, but for me, I like seeing it all displayed and nicely laid out, but I have tons of buddies who just open it and if anything, throw away all their boxes and stuff to save room. Just a different mindset.

No issues here. I still have the original packaging for most of my boys console games.

Pretty sure there's an Xbone, Gamecube and a Wii on the shelves in my basement. All in original packaging.

Not sure about the PS1/2.

Wife has an Atari 2600 in a box somewhere as well.
Tank battle anyone ??

a nice box can double or more the value of games and consoles, especially with a collectors edition

still a good value for someone but if it was being offered in a mint box for retail this thing would have been gone in 2 seconds

I got mine from Amazon yesterday. The seal was broken so I thought it might have been tampered with. I opened it to take a quick look to make sure everything was there and the corner of the box ripped when I was taking it out. That cardboard is super thin, Sony really cheaped out. I'm a collector like thejuice and like to keep things in pristine condition. Now I may end up selling mine as well. lol.

Best of luck with your sale OP, still a killer deal

Ah damn, had my fingers crossed for you lol.

Yea, I found online a #### ton of people saying the box was in relatively good condition, but that damn pesky seal always seemed to be broken, apparently it was made with super thin material. Didnt matter if it was Walmart, amazon, gamestop etc, they all seemed to have the seals busted. Never seen anything like that before, very odd lol.
