I wonder if the disappointment of being brought up but not play a game is softened by the boost in your paycheck and a small way Conroy can reward/encourage fringe players. Based on the Flames need of scoring I would think Hunt, Duehr, Pelletier, or Keirins would’ve been a higher priority than Klapka’s hustle & wingspan.
I think that they're waiting to bring up Pelletier, and to a lesser extend Duehr, until they're ready to have them on the roster full time. They are playing very, very well down there and are both eligible for waivers. I know that there's a 30 day window thing that they might still be open to moving down without waivers, but I think that's ending soon. They got lucky with Pelletier's poor camp as nobody wanted to pick him up at that point, but now he'd probably get snagged easily. Maybe not Duehr as he's older and has a lower pedigree, but he's probably get snagged too at this point.

Being brought up is not a disappointment. Not only does it provide a nice financial bonus, but it tells the player that the team sees them, sees how they're playing, and values them.
Obviously, they would prefer to get in the lineup, but getting to hang, and practice with the team for a few days, is infinitely better than not getting called up.

With the Wranglers being in Calgary it’s not a big hardship to call up players. That was a great move by the Flames.
Coronato had a few call ups and demotions before it finally seemed to click for him. Klapka hopefully has the same result at some point. I really think he could be a force. He just has to realize that to stay in the NHL it’s by being physical. Not by trying to be McDavid.
Not 100% sure it’s in his nature to be physical. It looks like it’s not natural for him.

Was at the Wranglers game yesterday. Klapka was okay, kinda meh. Could work a little harder so I’m surprised a bit at the call up. Kerins and Honzek both didn’t do much either. So I guess Klapka was maybe the best option.

He scored two didn't he and they won 4-0? Not enough?

I don’t know why they don’t just stick him in front of the net on the powerplay. He actually has decent hands, no one is going to move him and how is the goalie going to see. Turn him into Tim Kerr.
