Default Jets make NHL history

Thought it was worth mentioning Winnipeg has set a new season start record: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/590...-record-start/

You could include what that record is in your post instead of linking to a pay wall

This will make their inevitable playoff collapse that much sweeter.

Fair enough. I keep telling people I’m worried they are the 15 year old male in the league right now.

14-1-0 is a very impressive start.

That room has to be feeling pretty good about themselves even if they have to live in Winnipeg.

Would be pretty funny if they were the Canadian team to end the cup drought in Canada. Probably the least offensive option if we can't have it, at least to me. Would also stick it to all the talking heads that can't stop going on about Toronto or Edmonton.

Least offensive is Ottawa. Winnipeg could be least offensive, but their fans always think people who aren’t Winnipeg fans want to know about the Jets or have any reason to care about the Jets. You don’t see Minnesota Wild fans hanging about trying to talk about the Wild everywhere they get the chance.

I’m not even sure Ottawa has fans, and it’s a much nicer city (Winnipeg one of the worst in Canada), so pretty much best of everything there in terms of Canadian teams you wouldn’t mind winning.

I’m not cheering for any Canadian team to end the drought expect calgary.

I cheer for Canada during international play.

Also Jets will make history first team to win 14 of their first 15 and get swept in the 1st round.

Having a hot streak way too early. Also considering how the Avalanche dominated them in the playoffs last year and they are essentially the same group this year, yeah, hard to see them going much further. If they can drop Edmonton on the way well then I don't really care how far they go.

Whats not to like about the Jets? They're a very good team of almost entirely homegrown players that until this unprecedented start were getting no respect in the media. I remember very clearly the sportsnet panel on opening night agreeing that Edmonton, Toronto and Vancouver were the only Canadian teams that would make the playoffs this year. I see them doing well and I think "good for them". Come playoff time I'd much rather cheer for them than the Oilers or Canucks, and I wouldn't be unhappy to see them go far.

Jets and Flames have always gotten the least amount of respect from anyone .

My hatred of the NHL goes as follows (most hated to least) ...

1. Edmonton
2. Vancouver / Toronto tie
4. Montreal
5. Winnipeg
6. Ottawa
7. Tampa Bay
8-31. Every other random US team

So I guess I find Winnipeg to be one of the least offensive teams in my group of most offensive teams ... but I believe I might be able to stomach a Jets championship.

That said, while the Jets' start is impressive ... there is still a ton of hockey to be played.

So go Flames plus any random US team (other than TB)!!!

If not the Flames, the only Canadian team I am currently cheering for is the Nordiques.
All other Canadian teams can suck it!

It would make me happy if the Jets and not the Oilers became the Canadian team to win the Cup.

Jets fan attention seeking on another teams forum because it went completely under the radar so starts a thread lol.

Here's a cookie bud.

(But that's actually an impressive feat so can't hate on the team's accomplishment - but will it be any different come playoffs? I doubt it)

That's kind of where I'm at. It's been so bloody long since a Canadian team won it that I feel like I can hold out for decades if it means it's Calgary before anyone else.
