The right move. Honzek looked lost out there last night.

Honzek lost some.cofidence with that injury. Hopefully he gets it right back over a few games in the AHL. He definitely needs more mass on that frame.

With the Wranglers in Calgary we shouldn't get so worked up about these players going up and down...its awesome they can play a few AHL games vs. pressbox

^ Who’s getting worked up? Honzek needs to get his feet back under him and Coronato is the 2nd best goal scorer in the organization.

I wish Roger’s would swap out the Flames games for the Wranglers so we could watch some entertaining hockey for a bit

Their broadcasts on Flo are pretty good production value, imo

Probably should have just done this when Honzo was ruled healthy again, but then again there can't be anything bad for his development in having some extra cycles in the big leagues.

To me I feel like the biggest things Honzek needs to improve in his game is his physicality and skating. I recall seeing some comparisons to Getzlaf when he was drafted, and I'd love to have a player with that type of profile on the flames but I certainly think if he'd want to get anywhere near that he'd need to become more physical and work on his explosiveness when it comes to skating. I'm sure some time working with Danielle Fujita will help with the latter.

I like your forward lines but I’d keep Pachal in the lineup over Hanley.

Coronato is really working hard to take the next step. I’d support him as much as I could to help him pull it off. Good decision to bring him back up.

I like that Conroy has 3 or 4 legit options on the farm hungry to be given opportunities and he isn’t afraid to juggle the mix. This kind of roster management should separate the diamonds from the slag better than draft favouritism, lower league performance, or team data collection. See who can think the game at NHL speed. I think both Coronato and Honzek will have legit careers.

Fact is that Honzek wasn't even playing professional hockey last season, and he only really played half a season in junior.

He's simply not ready for the Bigs, and that is OK.

I was confused why they sent Coronato down, but glad he's back up. Maybe just a rookie GM mistake.

This is the right move. Coronato didn't deserve the demotion in the first place, and Honzek is just simply not NHL ready. He's been a pleasant surprise in the sense that he's going to be a pro when last year it looked like he might never pan out.

He's set up well to go have a great season in the AHL now and should be a big threat to make the team next year. You just have to hope he can stay healthy now and play 60+ games.
