I think can fill a role similar to Bennett's if he meets his potential
Also having him around means a getting a better Honzek. The poor season last year could've hurt Honzek's confidence a lot, but having Pospisil push him all Summer and convince him that he is a good player has been huge.

Popsicle is criminally underrated. He has speed, stick handling and a rare will to win. He goes to the dirty areas but can finish like a top 6 forward. Currently
My favourite flame.

Pospisil has definitely thrown some questionable to dirty hits, but he's also thrown some big perfectly clean ones that opposing players and fans overreact to.

You missed his best attribute! Every other team and their fans HATE him! i love it!

He and Lomberg bring the team into the fight, and it has changed the chemistry and culture of the team, entirely.
Backlund, Huberdeau, Andersson, Sharangovich, and I would add Lindholm and Hanifin, are all great players, but are somewhat more passive. I have felt for a long time, that the Flames lacked size, physicality, and most of all, swagger, as these guys have been the ones dictating the culture.
Now, Pospisil and Lomberg are leading the way with a new culture. Mantha has been a big factor as well. Guys like Kadri, Coleman and Weegar excel in this environment. And guys like Klapka, Bahl and Pachal are bringing physicality.
The aggression, confidence, and swagger that they are playing with is an awesome, and welcome change. And IMO, it all starts with Pospisil and Lomberg.

I would put Andersson in the latter group. Maybe not last year, but previously and increasingly so, this year.

I agree that Andersson can and will mix it up, and plays with swagger. I just don't think he was ever able to lead others into the fight. And when the team was too passive, he was too (sometimes).
The best part? Pospisil’s four assists have all been at 5-on-5. He’s averaging 5.17 primary assists-per-60, with no player with more than a game played sitting at over 5.00. Again, super small sample size. But being first doesn’t hurt. Pospisil might not play a ton, but he’s getting results, and that’s all you can ask for from a third-liner. His lack of ice time likely won’t make him a long-term fantasy stud. But in banger leagues, you can do so much worse. Right now, he’s producing AND hitting, and seems to be getting better with his linemates with every passing game.
“He’s a sparkplug,” one NHL scout said. “Every team could use someone who lays it on the line each game like he does.”

This is the thing for me. There is 'standing up for your teammates' and there is 'dragging the team into the fight.'
I love it.
Posposil and Lomberg obviously have the respect of their teammates. If they're in the fight then everyone is in it.
Thats what you want.

I rewatched the Zary OT goal against the Canucks and was impressed by how much of a gap Pospisil made up on the defender and how far ahead he was when he got to the net.
