It's going to be moving into the new building isn't it?
(also holy fata I remember when they brought in the Energy Board and we talked about how it could move to the new rink way back then)

Seems unnecessary but okay.

I was trying to see how the size compared to other NHL jumbotrons, and I remembered the Lightning had a huge jumbotron. It's total size is 3920 ft² (50 x 28 long and 20 x28 wide).
The New Jersey Devils is ridiculous. I don't know the measurements, but the total size is 9584.9 ft². That is absurd.

Cool, but Sportsnet should have thrown that money at Rick Ball instead!

This is not a Jumbotron Measuring Contest!

I've heard last summer that the current one they have in there is no longer supported software wise and maybe parts wise, and hasn't been for years. If something happened and it went down, it would be truly dead.
Obviously going into a new building not for 3 years they had to find a solution before that happened.
Who knows how it will be used when the Dome is done....probably perfect for a field house...

I didnt think the Saddledome roof was structurally sound enough to increase the weight of the scoreboard... does this mean they are going to intentionally collapse the roof in order to kick start the rebuild? hahaha

The tech gets progressively thinner and lighter so it might not weigh much more.

Went to the Wells Fargo arena last year, and they have a much bigger one too, I believe.

Yeah, I've been in the Tampa Bay rink and their video screen is massive. Sounds like this new one will be not quite that size, but still, a real improvement. I imagine they must be thinking of moving this, or have some deal to upgrade it again with return on investment, when the new building is done. Otherwise what are they gonna do? Install this just to toss it in a really big dumpster when they tear down the 'dome?

Are they still rocking the CRT big screens (or whatever they were) in the nose bleeds?
