I'm going to guess it means Bahl is still day to day, and bringing Jamieson up is a good way to have 4 pairings in practice instead of 7D.

Presumably, Jamieson is taking Bahl's spot for now. It's interesting that he got the call rather than Jurmo, Hurtig, or Morin, who I would have thought would be ahead of him in the development cycle.

they probably just didn't want to break up any of the other pairs, and Jamieson was more 'available'

By the looks of the way the lines are shaping up it looks like the battles will be for 3rd line LW and 4th line C and LW.

Front runners are probably:

Zary
Rooney
Duehr
Pelletier
Hunt
Coronato
Klapka

Guessing two will get sent down. I don’t really see a good fit for Coronato in this roster.

Also 6th and 7th Dman. Big log jam there.

Front runners being:

Pachal
Hanley
Solovyov
Barrie
Tinordi
Brzustewisz
Kuznetsov
Grushnikov

Guessing 6 will get sent down or not offered a contract. We have tons of good young defenders. I hope they don’t slot Tinordi or Barrie into these spots. I think we have enough young guys that need a chance. If you’re going to rebuild don’t sign guys in their 30s for development/support roles. Give the young guys a chance.

Maybe one of the goalie spots but I doubt that one. Think Wolf and Vladar are probably the guys.

Looking at everything it seems like the Flames loaded up a bit too heavy on Dmen last season. There seem to be a lot of young guys with nowhere to go. On the forward side Coronato is starting to look like an oddball. They are pretty light on non 4th line types.

Seems like the roster isn’t balanced very well. It’ll be interesting to see what the final product will be. Looks like so trades might be needed to balance things better. Maybe that is the plan in the second half of the season if things don’t go well.

My guess at the final roster is.

Huberdeau Pospisil Mantha
Sharangovich Kadri Kuzmenko
Zary Backlund Coleman
Duehr Rooney Lomberg

Hunt
Coronato

Weegar Miromanov
Bahl Andersson
Bean Pachal

Solovyov

Wolf
Vladar

Coronato is not a healthy scratch. He either has a top 6 role or he is back in the AHL and playing. He needs to play games, not be a scratch or 4th liner.

Once Kuzmenko and Mantha are traded I can see him being called up and getting minutes.

Right now I see no spot for him in the lineup. We can't send Zary down anymore I believe so it makes it tough.

For the love of God, can we please keep the chatter in the thread to what's happening at the camp?

I don't think anyone wants a repeat of what happened in the Day 1 thread.

Just nipping this in the bud, we are good so far lol

I’m really tired of Duehr. Did not like his game at all last year. My guess is that he loses the 4th line spot by the end of camp.

He is one of those players that for whatever reason shines under Darryl Sutter. I suspect he will be a Wrangler this season.

They're tinkering with the Wrangler pairings, while Jamieson will be sent back to juniors.

Remember, some players are also auditioning for the AHL.

That's what I thought, but Jurmo's the only d-man on Team Johnson who will be on the Wranglers this season. All the rest will be going to junior.

losing Pelletier on waivers and keeping Coronato up to watch would be poor asset management both ways IMO. a bit of it comes down to Barrie

if he sticks they may run 13 and 8? (or if they decide to give Parekh a look see )

if they go 14-7 then I'd swap Pelletier and Coronato, and otherwise it would be up to Klapka (or Schwindt or Morton) to displace one of Duehr, Hunt, Rooney, but I wouldn't lose much sleep either way on that

I think it’s him or pelletier in that spot.
