He, along with Coleman and Backlund I believe, we're just in Jersey for Gaudreau's wake and funeral.
And besides that he looks pretty good for 53

Look's like interviews with the players are going up as the Golf Tournament is today. Both hockey and Johnny related questions.
Conroy
Backlund
Coleman
Good interview from Conroy, and interesting to see how he dances around the expectation questions early. Pretty clearly a lay the foundation for the future year without saying it.
Goaltending:
- All guys will get the opportunity to grab the #1 role
- Sounds like Vladar is penciled in to get the first shot at the job, with Wolf, and Cooley pushing.
- There will be more opportunities to steal the net this year by playing well vs just having Markstrom get back in the net
- Vladar is fully recovered from surgery has been on the ice with LaBarbera for the last couple of weeks.
Defense:
- Felt they needed to get bigger back there.
- Want to keep players away from Wolf's sight lines and away from the front of the net
- It's great having a young guy like Bahl that they can work with and grow his game
- Pairings in pencil:
Weegar - Miromanov
Bahl - Andersson

Im excited . I always loved the underdog role...lower expectations means losses arent surprising, wins are glorious and games we compete hard in isnwhat matters.
I just want to see us be a pain to play against and nothing is easy.
Honestly, i kind of hope when teams come to Alberta its known as death valley again. No easy points . Edmonton is gonna be trying way to hard all year punching way above their weight classes and i hope we smoke them and get no respect but show we F ing belong wherever we end up .
We wont be a fluke and take easy paths like Edmonton last year.
Clark Bishop pushing for a spot? Seems like a name pulled out of a hat.
Is he not an AHL journeyman?
yeah but he is 28 and was pretty solid in the AHL last year...could be on the fourth line. I think the point is competition, nobody is being gifted anything

If you're going for a more physical 4th line then I think Bishop could fill that role...but honestly wouldn't be where I hope this team takes the 4th line.

After listing the first 6 names Huska said this: "... And then you have Schwindt, you have players like Bishop, guys that are gonna push for spots...".
I don't think he thinks that Bishop is actually pushing for a spot, but Huska expects guys to push the NHL guys for jobs.
I just wrote the names he listed and didn't give it much thought.
