NYI/Kings strike big deal

The Kings approached us earlier today and asked whether we'd be interested in acquiring their entire trade block, save for a couple players (not joking). We happily obliged.

To LAK:
C Hendrix Lapierre
LW Evan Rodrigues

To NYI:
RW Blake Coleman
D Sean Walker
LW Reid Schaefer
RW Alex Nylander
LW Filip Zadina

The main pieces for us here are Coleman and Walker, both of whom are ratings upgrades on Rodrigues. But man, it was tough to trade Lapierre, who I think will be a stud in the NHL pretty soon. I figured the value was there to justify doing it but it was still hard.

Thanks to the Kings for the deal (and for covering the CPHL cap difference). This was a fun one.

Bye bye, entire team!

Cutting things up piecemeal didn't seem to be working ingredients out, so the isle came through with a time saving deal. Coleman and Walker are both on great deals this year, and should hold value going forward, as well as three recent 1st rounders trying to find their game.

Coming in is stalwart Rodriguez and lapierre. I think that the are other strong prospects out there, but what lapierre has is a clear path to a top six role, and that carries weight.

Kings need to start taking some high risks chances. Thanks to Scorp.

I like this return for LAK. A clear consolidation of assets to get a future top 6 RFA forward.
