Seattle hires Jessica Campbell as assistant coach. First woman coach in NHL history
I thought this was cool and figured it deserved a thread:

I'm not saying that she won't face sexism, but people say awful things about coaches every time something goes wrong.
We had threads upon threads dedicated to Sutter.

Great to see this! Hope she is ultra-successful. The OBC culture in hockey needs some mitigation.

Look at Savard even who was in a similar role as this chick.
Her getting hated on by her own fans would be par for course with the role.
Cool to see though. Hope she's successful.

Great news. A lot of women dedicate themselves and work just as hard as men, so it’s nice to see more being able to get good positions and make decent livings from it. Hopefully more opportunities come up in the future.

For some reason I immediately thought these were obscure bands during California's most famous music festival; I need a coffee

Replace “this chick” with “she was” or “her” and you had a decent post.

"This chick" is no different than saying "this dude." These words themselves mean literally nothing. It's only what precedes or follows them that shapes the intention of their use, and clearly there was no evil intention behind the particular post you've referred to.
Who's most responsible for a person being offended? The person using a word or the person offended by the use of a word?

Perhaps they use neither she or her as preferred pronouns.
