Yikes 3 spots for a high 2nd. Sets the bar very high on the cost to move up.

Doubt we’re getting 11 now…

Top 10 heavy draft. They must have their eyes on one guy.

Good trade for Buffalo, they could trade 14 for a player now and still have 42 in this draft.

SJ can afford to make these moves though.

Sharks want a dman, this way they could get Yakemchuk. They must have figured he wasn't available at 14.

Or they want Eiserman and figure he'd be gone.

That's my guess.

Makes sense for San Jose. Not sure why Buffalo wouldn't just use the value of 11 on a step in now player.

steep to move up 3 spots sure, but in between 11-14 (I know I know there is no 'list' ) is where most/many agree the ledge happens so makes sense

Ras for 14. Maybe the flames didn’t wanna trade 41

It makes more sense now, Flames want another top 15. Add the 2nd and then do the trade. You still get a prospect with the player.

Wow. Sharks seem to be set on a defenceman. Good deal for the Sabres.

This makes sense for Buffalo as if they are supposedly trading it for Necas, they might as well move down 3 spots get a 2nd and the trade the 14th overall for Necas.

Squeeze any value possible before trading it for their target player.

Win Win for both teams

Devils 10th for necas has also been thrown out there though

I think that’d be done if if was on the table. Carolina won’t do better.

It's possible that Carolina would have to add too. Buffalo might do it straight up now.

I'm kind of surprised this didn't happen at the draft.
Usually teams want to see who is available at the pick before trading form.

I doubt a player at 11 is going to play in the NHL next year.

Seems like an odd trade to make today to me, would have waited to see if the guy(s) you're targetting are even still there.

I think they meant Buffalo trading 11 to some team for an NHL player.
