OK here are the instructions.
Deadline July 10th, 11:59 PM MST

- If a player is signed for this upcoming season - you don't need to worry about it. If a player is a free agent and 28 and under - the RFA grids apply.
- If a player does not have a gird amount you can sign them for the minimum (the amounts at the bottom of the list)
- RFAs are 2 way deals
- You can choose from the 1, 2 or 3 year numbers
- You MUST have enough cap space to re-sign your UFAs, but you do NOT need cap space to re-sign your RFAs
- Do not send UFA deals yet. That'll be the next step
- The grids also show the ratings cut off for players that need to be on your CPHL squad in order to sign UFAs, if they are 23 years or younger. This is to prevent highly rated young players from being stashed in the CPHL.

NEXT STEPS:
- This should be done by emailing cphlufa@yahoo.com the following (send it all in one email, not an email for each player). Please follow this format.
- The name of the player be signed, OVR, number of years you are signing them to, and the corresponding grid amount.
- A list of players you are NOT re-signing and therefore want released
- Please include any ECHLers that have 0 years remaining. You can also sign other ECHlers with term remaining but there is no deadline for this yet. ECHL contracts are based on where they were drafted in the NHL:
1st Round = Picks 1-10: $1.35 million, Picks 11-20: $1.15 million, Picks 21+: $1 million*
2nd Round = $0.75 million*
3rd Round and beyond = $0.5 million*

After RFA re-signing we will have UFA re-signing and then UFA bidding.

Questions?

What if the ECHL players are in the grid? Do we have to go by the grid rates or the ECHL rates?

Something seems off with these actually. Dmen that aren't good enough to play in a top 6 are still really expensive. Taking another look. Sorry.

I think I messed up.

DO i have to say if they are on a 2 way deal or is that automatic, and is this for the AHL roster who says RFA as well?

As I understand it, all RFA deals are 2-way deals, and all UFA deals are 1-way deals.

- All RFA deals are 2-ways
- If you re-sign your UFAs it's a 1 way
- When we get into UFA bidding, you set if it's a 1 way, or 2 way with AHL % between 5 and 50%. That is factored into calculating the total contract value (term * $/year * AHL%) that dictates who wins the player.

For CPHL, AHL and ECHL players who have zero years remaining.

When I was sending in my resigning information, I just saw that the rules dictate that ECHL players who are drafted towards the end of the first round (21st - 30th) should be signed to a 1 million per contract. I think we should extend that to the 32nd pick now that we have two additional teams in the NHL.

Warning, cranky commissioner post:

This is SO much more work for me when people don't take the time to read, understand and follow the instructions. I have to process hundreds of these during the off-season. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask that people do their part and follow what has been outlined. PLEASE.

Well either Jiri has mellowed out and is a much happier, nicer person or he hates me because when I screwed up in my first year I got the SNARKIEST email I've ever received from anyone ever!

I don't think I will like the answer.

Edit - On a serious note, publicly shame me if I was one of the ones who goofed. I thought I got it right, but the formatting probably could have been better.
