Flames prospect roundup: Several prospects’ seasons have come to an end

This is the Mar. 31 – Apr. 6 edition of the Flames prospect roundup, where we look at how Calgary Flames prospects did this past week, specifically those at the junior and college levels. The American Hockey League prospects have their own article in the Wranglers recaps.

“Always earned, never given” continues to ring hollow in Calgary based on Parekh’s expected usage

From the second the Saginaw Spirit season ended, Zayne Parekh watch began in Calgary. After a few days of nothing but silence, the Flames finally announced Parekh’s recall yesterday and made it official that the 2024 ninth overall pick would be joining the team. Not soon after, cold water was poured directly on any excitement.

'Tough one to swallow': Three takeaways from Flames’ costly collapse in Anaheim

Stunned. Shell-shocked.
Already in fingers-crossed territory, the Flames’ fading playoff hopes took a huge hit when they surrendered a pair of snipes in an eight-second span in Wednesday’s late stages in Anaheim, coughing up a two-goal lead with less than four minutes remaining in regulation.

A Flame from the Past: Marc Habscheid

Born to Luxembourger parents in the small Saskatchewan town of Wymark, Habscheid started his junior career with the Western Hockey League’s Saskatoon Blades in 1979-80, scoring two goals and five points in 15 games.

Biggest game of the year. Puts pressure not only on Minnesota but also St Louis.

Flames might need to score 9 to ensure the W.

Must. Win.

Find a way.

All hands on deck.

Yes. Several Sportsnet shots of the pressbox with witty commentary from the court jesters.

Well this is a Critical game for the Flames. If they win they still have a couple breaths left in the lungs. Lose and it's pretty much curtains. So win the game and drag this out as long as you can. This Flames team...probably an OT loss so that they're mostly dead, but not completely done.

Might catch the start but otherwise should be wrapped up by the time I land.

Please keep it to regulation regardless of a win or loss!

Frost and Farabee are another pair of examples of the impatience in Canada. Fans have decided, after 28 games, that they're no good.

We need to see what they look like next year, with a fresh start, before drawing any conclusions on them. But nope, most fans have already decided,. Trade 'em for a 3rd!!

I predict the Flames go 3-1 down the stretch but STL goes 0-2.

Binnington throws many water bottles.

We'll know who wants to be here and win here based on their performance tonight.
If you cant get up for a game like this then you're pretty much emotionless and should find a new home.
