It is time to open a new chapter in the epic tale of E=NG, Edmonton is no good.
Since at least 2014, the common practice here has been to close the last version and start a new thread in an effort to keep the site software from lagging after threads get too big. Pho recommended starting a new one after 10,000 posts, which has usually coincided with a new season.
It is late this year, probably because of the weird wrinkle in the universe fabric that saw the Oilers in the second round of the playoffs last spring. But then, since the start of the season on 10 October there have been 2,165 posts, so it is definitely time.
We are doing something a little different this year, and have turned the naming of the next E=NG thread into a bracket challenge. There are eight choices, and we will go three rounds to find everyone’s favourite. Since 2019 the common practice has been to draw names for the threads from from statements made by members within the organisation or media, or published statements made about the team. The following eight title choices have come from comments just since opening night.
There will be a thread dedicated to each bracket in each round, and each round will run for 24 hours.
