Not a horrendous game, but man. You'd hope they could get at least a point from Columbus.
This team seriously needs a real game breaking offensive talent.

It still looks like the old coach was correct in his assessment of this team having no game breakers. On the plus side at least this year they have goaltending so far but they are still giving up tons of high danger chances that many attributed to the last coaches system. Hopefully they clean that up as they get used to the zone defence but I'm worried it's a personnel issue.

Thought we played well enough to win but you have to finish your chances especially in close.
Ruzicka with two massive misses. Mangiapane fires one wide. Kadri misses the net.
These are guys who have scored before just whiffing on easy goals.
Andersson and Backlund with rough games. Andersson can keep plays alive but after that's he's been pretty bad.

No finish. Plain and simple.
There isn't one "goal scorer" on this team. Toffoli is gone and Gaudreau/Tkachuk making guys goal scorers is also gone. It's just a whole lot of puck possession and harmless shots.

A game like tonight shows how much this team is missing a true game breaker. If they had this roster but could use $17.5M on 2 different players than Huberdeau and Kadri this could be a top team.

I'm not going to catastrophize. Not a great game, hot goalie, slow tired play. Good effort from Kadri, good game from Marky. Bad game from many. On to the next.
