At 1 million sure but at 4.725 it's just too much of a gamble.

I remember him having that big year in 2018/19, then only signing a 1 year, $1mm deal which helped the sharks cap.

This current deal 4x$4.725mm seems rich but makes a little more sense if you think of it as a 5 x ~$4mm deal since he gave the Sharks a juicy 1 year concession.

I was at Sharks game years ago, 2019 maybe and was in the alumni suite with a bunch of old players. I mentioned liking LeBlanc's game and a few laughed. One old player said he has great skill but might legitimately be the dumbest player to ever suit up for the Sharks. Almost uncoachable dumb. Hard no to LeBlanc.

I live in San Jose and on the sports radio shows this morning they interviewed LaBanc at practice and he said he hasn't been told he was going to be put on waivers.

Mike Grier has sure made some strange moves in his tenure as Sharks GM. I doubt he'll get a second chance anywhere else.

The league does reward being terrible and he seems to be doing a good job at that

Went to the Avs vs Sharks game on Saturday. Place was actually more full than expected (80%?). But the tuesday Carolina game.....empty. I mean like 1/3 full at best.

Sharks are going to be losing a lot of money, and I suspect as bad as Grier's moves have been, he is under orders to maintain some level of competitiveness.

Mackenzie Blackwood is a massively underrated goalie that had a bad NJ team in front of him.

He is legit and may be a big part of this team not picking top 5 anytime soon.
