Will be interesting to see how they do. Was more or less what I predicted it would be minus Greer and Hunt.
Too bad Pelletier got hurt. I was curious to see if he would take another step this year.

The Flames added Greer and didn’t waive anyone as far as I can tell. Does that mean they’re not getting within 25K of the salary cap and then using LTIR? I feel so dumb, but I just don’t understand how this is going to work.

Congrats to the Kids who made it!
Obviously looking forward to seeing what Coronato can do between murders and muggings...talented hockey player but he has dead eyes...like a doll's eyes...
Its really too bad about Pelletier, but also...you get a few injuries and spots will open.
I think my guy this year is going to be Duehr. I like his jam.
And then...my whipping boy shall present himself in time...at the moment I'm leaning towards Jordan Unspellable...you're on notice Jordan.

I don’t know how this team is going to score enough goals to be competitive. Here’s hoping for some lightning in a bottle…

^ Details about ACSL I looked up since I wasn't sure:
Quote:
The basic equation can be used throughout the NHL regular season, and during the off-season: ACSL = Salary cap upper limit - team cap space
The training camp equation can be used on the last day of training camp in preparation for the first day of the season: ACSL = Team cap hit - LTIR player’s cap hit
The closer the ACSL is to the league upper limit, the greater the team will be able to exceed the upper limit.

There's no extra benefit to putting them on LTIR. The idea is to be as close to the cap as possible before invoking LTIR.
If necessary, the team can put Rooney and/or Pelletier on LTIR retroactively later on.

And now I'm the cynic.
That collection of 'Bubble Team' playoff 'maybes' is hugging the Cap?
Ugh...this team is in serious trouble.

If those 2 guys are out for months , I presume Kylington isn’t coming back any time soon since they put him on ltr.

It's not even a question of who's out longer. Pelletier + Rooney = $2,163,333 cap hit. Kylington = $2,500,000. Having Kylington on LTIR gets the team closer to the cap and therefore allows them to spend more money on replacements.
It's purely a bean-counting exercise. All we can say for sure about Kylington is that he will be out for at least 10 games and 24 days.

So essentially if both Rooney and Pelts go on LTIR a couple of days into the season. We could trade for a ~$2M player like Pinto.

Don't quote me on that, but I believe that's about right. Of course, they're not going to actually put them on LTIR until they know what they're doing with the money.

Hmm....what we need is to count Magic Beans...that always works better.

So Coronato is the only rookie to make the team out of camp. He definitely deserves it, but it's a shame no one else did. I guess Pelletier would have in all likelihood if he didn't get injured.
