If it's not drugs it's gotta be a very serious medical problem. He should go on IR and the Flames should get the cap space.

Could be just physical - I know Kylington looks fit and we've seen his training clips. But maybe he's not hockey fit. Or maybe he's just jet lagged - IIRC he only just arrived. I've traveled that far by plane and it takes it out of you.

I think if we assumed a seamless transition for Kylington this year after not playing last year, we had unfair expectations.

I highly doubt they put out a release around a player sitting out the 1st day. Especially as the release mentions a private matter.

They are paying him $1.3 mil regardless... let him get a shot to see if he can do better than last year.

It would be hard to do worse. Possibly one of the worst players to play for the Flames in recent memory, and I still remember Grossman.

It's only a $150K cap hit if he's in the A though. But of course, they still have to pay someone at C.

Yeah I understand that, I just thought they can't fit him cap-wise. It would essentially guarantee a 21 man roster.

Rooney had a solid camp last year and was getting mention in Calgary media.

Then he slid when the regular season started, and had that infamous "am I in my own zone?" moment.

I think out of respect for a veteran player you give him a look, but I'd assume Huska hasn't forgotten.
