Thumbs up What is going right so far?

Reading through the super negativity and the crazy reactions after 3 games is quite grueling. Let’s have a space where we can talk about what is actually going well so far?

To me,
- we look faster and that’s a big positive.
- PP is looking more creative
- Huby is ppg (regardless of how he looks doing it)
- Ruzicka is looking slick so far
- Markstrom is better than expected so far
- the PK is doing well
- the team is on the road bonding
- we aren’t getting roughed up

I'll add the 4th line as well. Nice to have a speedy group that doesn't terrify you when they're out there. They've been really good.

The game they won was against a team they will be fighting with to make the playoffs. The ones they lost are to teams that can't affect that.

I have way more fun watching them this year than last year. Yaya they have defensive breakdowns and whatever, but at least they get chances on the other end. Last year it felt like every game Flames had 40 shots with 2 high danger chances. Just by looking at the heatmap of the last 2 games you can see that they get way more attempts up close.
I will watch this team over last years any day of the week.

I'm always peeved after a loss, but sober second thoughts I'm cautiously optimistic. I still want more from Huberdeau and Kadri though.

Ruzicka is looking like early last season’s Ruzicka where he was the best player on the team.

Kylington is back in North America at least and seems closer to coming back and being the most exciting player on the team.

I think the offense has looked more creative. It looks like there are trying harder to generate good scoring chances and going for quality over quantity. This is probably why there have also been a lot of mistakes, but I think they are on the right track. Just need to work through the kinks.

Last year the Flames started like 5-1 and we all know what happened...

-Markstrom, Ruzicka, 4th line.
-Shown ability to dominate for stints.
-General work rate has been very good.
-Huberdeau has been consistent over 3 games, not yet elite but played well.
-Style of play has been more entertaining than last season
-Oilers lost first 2

Ruzicka, Coronato, speed.

I think it's time to see Coronato with Huber-Lindholm
Ruzicka with Backlund-Coleman
Kadri with Dube - Mangi.

They were absolutely dominant in the first last game against Washington.

A coverage mistake and unfortunate redirection tied it, but that was just a couple of mistakes

The game plan looks sound and is not excruciatingly boring perimeter play

I’m optimistic
