How has Sharnangovich looked?

I kind of wondered if he played on the top line if Mangiapane could be the 2018/2019 versions of Tkachuk someone from another line popping with the top line on the PP.

Maybe Kadri pops for 30.

I expect the full team (maybe a few still auditioning) to be on the ice for the last 3 exhibition games in October. We'll get a real good look at Huberdeau-Lindholm-Sharangovich then I assume.

For now he's looked fine, but he's played 2 games and 1 of them wasn't seen by most here. He needs extended time on that line. They all do. Hoping the Flames don't do like previous years and wait until the final exhibition to trot out the opening day lineup.

Let them gel.

I'm curious how much PP time Coronato will have by the end of the season. Start slowly and ease in over time, but that shot is to deadly to not use

Glad the team is working on the PP, they definitely need the practice. Especially the 2nd unit. I expect the top line, Kadri, and Markstrom will make an appearance in the game against the Oilers.

In the first link it's interesting to see both Huberdeau and Lindholm practice on their off sides

Sounds like the wranglers don't plan on joining the AHL preseason. Does that mean their camp will be delayed?

Ruzicka and Coronato really should be getting looks on the PP.

Might be better to let them focus on making the team first.

Guess we'll have to have a practice at Winsport.

As someone said, first things first.

However, at some point, a PP2 of: Backlund, Mangiapane, Ruzicka, Coronato, Weegar would be interesting to see.

I like that they are going with different looks of the PP, 1 and 2 dmen. I would assume the formation/strategy rotation will be different on each making defending harder to adjust to.

Certainly, but putting these guys in the positions where they can excel and grow their confidence would go along way in accomplishing that goal, at least in my opinion.

It's certainly not a big deal, but we already know what we have in Backlund, Hanifin, and Weegar (less so) on the PP for example and it's not exactly their strength.

I agree you want to put them in a position to excel and grow. However, putting them there before they are ready can just as easily hinder their development. The steps to get PP time for those guys IMO are:

1) Earn a spot in the line-up (I think they both will)
2) Show enough consistency to stay in the line-up
3) PP time (if PP is sputtering)

Still think there is a strong likelihood we see one or both there by American Thanksgiving, but I get why they aren't there now and don't think they should be.
